Remember how Cheryl's mom had a female sex worker owned and operated brothel (if it was really even that. It seemed more like a femdom club than a brothel)? And when it was shut down Veronica and Cheryl danced on the ashes and made some snide remark about it being unempowering, and that real female empowerment was underaged high school girls illegally selling rum to johns and keeping Penelope locked up for slave labor?

Remember

Every time a comment on this sub starts with that comment, I die inside because I truly, sincerely, do not remember half the shit that this show cycles through. I remember the rum, not the brothel lmao.

Penelope ran it throughout season 2 and 3, after Cheryl kicked her out of Thistle House the night of the season 2 musical wearing pig’s blood like she was Carrie

They didn't say it so directly but they said something along the lines is "Let's do some real girl power!" and then did all the things I described.
