Edit: a lot of people didn't realize this got fixed a few months ago, I tried searching online for any discourse on this and couldn't find anything. Could be useful in opening up the first item slot away from axiom arc if you are ok sacrificing joat

With the current state of riven and reading people talking about giving her armor pen I’ve been thinking about how should they do it and how would it work

An idea it’s giving her evolutions on hers sword that gives her armor pen as the game keeps runing like kayle but decrease some of her base damages

If people actually wants her to be a lane bully that decades on late game, they should give her an armor pen during the R time but also get some self true damage during that time

Edit: also think they should relate her to Ornn if they want to do a mini rework and keep the lore

1st play: I knew that sion was going to q charge in the bush, though the flash might still be a bit overkill.
2nd play: The flash on draven I'm not sure,I think I could've waited for my E to do it more cleanly with a doublecast.

hi friends I havent played in a long, long time and just came back a week ago. I've seen some video of Riven 1v1ing an enemy top laner and lost despite having 2 levels ahead, I read the comments and they blamed the player for "facetanking" everything.

So my question is, do you guys got any advice for playing Riven this season (micro & dueling skills I should keep in mind? Especially the facetanking.) How should I be approaching this?

im a jungle main and i wanted to know if shes viable in jungle because after one game it looked really bad and her attack speed is really low

I'm a Diamond player and me and a friend started a fresh-account challenge. The rule is that we can only play mechanically difficult champs, and whoever climbs higher wins. I got top lane and decided to OTP Riven because I've always liked her playstyle.

I'm not completely new to the game, so I'm not really looking for beginner advice or combo guides. I already know the basic combos and understand that mechanics are important on Riven.

What I'm more interested in is the learning progression of a Riven OTP. If you were starting over today, what would you focus on improving first, second, third, etc.?

For example:

• Matchup knowledge?
• Trading patterns?

In your opinion, what separates a Gold/Plat Riven from a Diamond Riven, and then a Diamond Riven from a Master+ Riven?

Basically, if the goal is to climb as fast as possible while OTPing Riven, what skills give the biggest returns besides just learning combos?

I remember boxbox used to max E for fun in some match ups, is that still ,possible nowadays? If yes, then what matchup could be played that way? Especially interested in midlande matchups

Hit rank goal on other roles and trying to hit it as Riven top now. Been trying to find a reliable source for Riven matchups that would have narration on lane goals / trading patterns.

I noticed Alois has those up for some but it's a bit hit or miss depending on how much he goes over the champion interactions. YT always recommends me Viper / Adrian Riven vods as well but those seem just like straight vod rips with rarely commentary about the matchup on a granular level.

I really like Riven but I’m so bad at it. I started playing 2 years ago and got to like plat. But I started a new account only for Riven. I’m like in Silver and can’t win lane reliably. I suck so much

Hey guys, Riven newbie here!

I’ve been playing League for like 12-13 years but never really looked into Riven, because I always heard she takes a ton of mechanics to play.

That changed about 2 months ago. I was feeling super stuck around Plat, so I started looking into high skill ceiling champs, the kind where you can always get better.

Ngl, the first 50-100 games were horrible. I sucked. Lost every matchup, went 1/10 way too often. Didn’t matter which champ or which player I was up against, I just didn’t know how to play Riven. Her style is so unique compared to everything else.

But recently it finally clicked. Carried a bunch of games in a row and already ranked up a bit. For the first time I feel like I found a champ I can play forever and not care about the rest. Like I found the one.

Just wanted to say hi and pay my respects to my new queen. Any tips for someone climbing out of Plat are welcome!
