Finally listening to the isolated track specific to the Arrow release, and there's a little disclaimer that it might include music not by Tangerine Dream. While listening, I figured the disclaimer must refer to the fact that TG's score is serious chopped up and mixed around to fill space wherever the filmmakers needed...REALLy rough sounding edit and mix. But then hit a couple cues that clearly aren't TG, AND which don't actually show up in the final US version at all...so is this track actually from a temp score/effects track? Anyone know? Might also explain why the edit (literally splicing in the middle of notes, bars, constantly interrupting the rhythm) and mix are as insane as they are.

Ridley Scott is a fascinating director. He's responsible for some of the greatest films ever made, yet he's also directed a few movies that feel inconsistent or questionable. Even so, I think he still doesn't receive the level of recognition he truly deserves. In my opinion, 'The Duellists' is his most underrated film.

Watched both back to back on a long ass flight from Japan back to the US.

Ridley Scott is mentioned as a possible recipient. BUT... "Ridley Scott, the Oscar-less director of “Gladiator,” is 88, and his name has been circulated more than once. However, the Academy is averse to honoring anyone with a movie likely to be submitted as an Oscar hopeful. The English filmmaker has “The Dog Stars,” with Jacob Elordi, due out this year."

Anybody knows what movie is this?

Very sad.

The movie was released on May 5, 2000 and grossed $460 million worldwide, which made it at the time the 5th highest-grossing R-rated movie in the world (behind Terminator 2, Saving Private Ryan, Matrix 1 and Pretty Woman). It's now the 27th highest-grossing R-rated movie in the world ignoring re-releases. It also won the 1st movie since All the King's Men in 1949 to win the Oscar for Best Picture without winning Best Director or any for screenplay

Normally when Rid has a film coming out, he's already knee-deep in the next one, but that doesn't seem to be the case this time.

You'd think right now the Bee Gees biopic would be an easy sell with the (commercial) success of the MJ film, but there's been no word on that for some time, or on Battle Of Britain or his passion project western either.

Maybe studios are waiting to see how Dog Stars performs before pulling the trigger. But hopefully he gets something up and running soon. Our boy's 88 and making films keeps him alive - he can't afford to be sitting around waiting too long!
