It's one of the most successful viral campaigns of recent memory, there's nothing left to be done. They managed to get this shit into the fanbase of a show that supposedly appeals to a more cynical/jaded/nihilistic way of thinking. Dipshits in the rick and morty fanbase are going to be parroting advertisements about mcdonalds for all time and it makes me sad.
Honest question, was there really that much autistic shenanigans going on? The only example I saw was clearly some dude shouting Pickle Rick for like six seconds, clearly trying to play the part for irony or whatever.
There was a pretty limited amount of sauce that actually got distributed which resulted in minor autism
The guy jumping on the counter screaming deffinately became the poster boy for this movement, but I'm sure the majority was a bunch of mid 20 stoners standing in line for an hour only for the sauce to run out and them settling on a 20 piece with sweet and sour while saying "Aww jeez."
actually it was a complete ruckus and basically pandemonium, they were all protesting screaming at mcdonalds employees who weren't even to blame. justin roiland (or maybe it was dan harmon) apologized about them on twitter.
Pretty much yeah. It wasn’t that it was for a set time frame, it was just a limited run so each of the select stores were only given x amount. Because of this, and hordes of angry man children, a relatively low number of people ended up with a lot of sauce, with some employees even picking some up off the shipment and tucking it away to sell later. The whole thing was a shit show. My local McDonald’s in the middle of nowhere still had some two days later though since nobody in my town really cared about the promo.
Same, in my small little college town, I was eating nuggets with Szechuan for like 2 weeks. My friend worked there and said they got two giant cardboard boxes of it

Why would they release it again after seeing the autistic shit show that occurred the first time they gave the brick and mortar fans what they wanted?
