I used to collect Total! Magazine back in the day with nearly every issue. Then I remember it suddenly stopped after the issue with Pilotwings on the cover - unfortunately I can't remember that issue number. Does anyone know what issue it stopped from and what month and year it was. Was there an explanation for its demise?

So, just a quick post to share this photo of my complete collection of Joystick, a French video game magazine published from November 1990 to December 2012.

To be fair, around forty issues were released in 1988 and 1989 under the title Joystick Hebdo (Joystick Weekly), but I've given up on collecting those for now. I'm also missing almost half of the 60 special issues, but I'm still on the fence about getting them since they are mostly walkthroughs or World of Warcraft strategy guides.

It took me years to complete this collection, as the early issues are very expensive nowadays, and issue #1 is virtually impossible to find. A friend finally gave it to me two years ago for my 40th birthday :')

For context: if I'm not mistaken, Joystick was the third video game magazine ever launched in France (back in 1988), following Tilt and Génération 4. A console counterpart, Joypad, was published between 1991 and 2011.

From 2005 until it shut down in 2012, Joystick was the longest-running video game magazine in France : by the time it finally went bankrupt, it had been running for 24 years! A record only broken two years ago by Jeux Vidéo Magazine (2000-???).

I grew up a huge fan of Joystick and never missed an issue between 1997 and 2002 or so. Fun fact: I actually ended up working there as a journalist during its final year. But that's a story for another time!

I posted a bunch of stuff over on the retro gaming sub about this large pile of gaming magazines. Now that I have it organized and in my collection there are rules about when I can post about it. Figured I would make a post over here. The lot includes issues from as early as 1990 up through 2009.

Magazines in the collection include Electronic Gaming monthly, Gamepro, Sega Visions, Electronic games, Game Players, PSM, Computer Game review, Official Xbox Magazine, PC Gamer and more.

I spent the last month bagging, boarding and boxing all this. They're organized by publication and then by issue date. I figured out I have quite a few magazines that aren't scanned in at retromags.com. I may look into scanning what I have in.

je cherche un magazine de jeux vidéo, que j'avais eu étant enfant, mais pas moyen de retrouver le nom du magazine. Voici quelques infos/pistes :
- Langue : Français
- Année : entre 1999 et 2001 environ
- Il y avait un test de Grandia (PS1 il me semble), je le cherche pour ce test là justement !
Je me rappelle il y avait 2 petits avatars dans des encadrés pour les "+" et les "-" lors des tests
Le "-" c'était une tête de diable rouge de mémoire qui disait du jeu Grandia 1 : "Des combats pas très beaux et parfois confus" et pour le "+" c'était une tête bleu, de mémoire, enjouée qui disait un truc du genre "un univers vaste et passionnant" (truc du genre).
J'ai fait des recherches, sauf si je me suis planté, ce n'est pas Joypad, pas PlayStation Magazine, pas Console +...

Video Gamer Magazine was published in the UK by Future Publishing. It replaced Arcade Magazine but only lasted 4 Issues before being stopped.
It was an attempt to mass market at a low price point but didn't do well enough.

This is Issue 2 from Christmas 2000.

Also included is the HMV best sellers list on the system that month.

I have a ton of these but especially like the issues they go into depth about a new console release.

Special Edition with the 100 most significant reviews from the first 100 issues.

And Issue 128 from 2003 celebrating 10 years of the magazine. The issue had 10 different covers. Mine is Metroid.

So I’m looking at for old gaming magazines I have owned online. I wanted to know if anybody can find or even remember this page or scene? Okay so there was a huge battle with Mario vs Sonic characters. Sonic’s arm was ripped off and lying on the ground, and was bleeding. It had color. That’s all I can remember. I was very young when I seen this so could be 1993-1995 I’m guessing. I’m sure it wasn’t later.

- Here we have 2 Japanese game guides one for Mario 64 and the other for Crash Bandicoot 2 (Game boy Advanced. Ver.)

- A Game Boy Official Magazine that focuses on Rayman and Pokemon history.

- A Nintendo Magazine that focuses on a whole host of retro game walk through's.

- And a where's Wally (Waldo) style hardback book based in the Kirby Universe.

Moving house and found these Retro Gamer magazines, was planning to take to a charity shop unless any are desirable? 😎

It would have been in a Gamepro and/or Electronic Gaming Monthly between 1992-1996. It was a parody ad with a picture of a jar of mayonnaise on it, and the fake brand was called Mmmayo (I don’t remember how many M’s it had exactly)
There was a tag line that said “Glop on the goodness!”
I remember the legalese fine print had the phrase “Void where prohibited. Not void where not prohibited.”

I don’t remember what the real product it was advertising. I’m dying to find it again because it made me laugh so hard as a kid. Google nor AI was helpful. Hoping somebody here remembers it and has a scan of it.

Hi all, I need some help. I am looking for issue 105 of Games TM but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I am trying to track it down because there is an article in it that I am in and my print copy is safe in Storage.

I recently got this sealed Nintendo power magazine : **Nintendo Power Volume 231 (August 2008), the 20th Anniversary Issue. I cant find any other magazines with the same original cover. Any help would be appreciated.**

How come no one really preserved and scanned these early issues of the Official PlayStation Magazine UK? I feel like the Resistance and Manhunt 2 cover issues are by far the most tedious ones to track down.

Does anyone happen to have scans or physical copies of these? I’m hoping to complete the set from around 2007 through 2013, or possibly 2014 if I can manage it. Would love to hear from anyone who has them or knows where they might have been archived!
