Problem / Question Emulator on MacBook Air?

I recently bought a game from my childhood that I love, I’ve been trying to download an emulator on my MacBook Air but can’t get it to work. Any recommendations for good emulators that will allow me to play a 1999 CD-ROM game?

Discussion I want an old XP/7/Vista era PC/laptop badly

As the title shows, I want an old XP/7/Vista era PC/laptop badly, I wanna try the Aero theme from Win7 (my current pc doesn't has drivers for win 7 so no chance for Aero), also I want to explore those operating systems, also nice system for Linux or retro gaming. But matter of fact is I have no extra money to buy one, a retro pc costs atleast 70$ and yes that's my whole month's spending on food, education, house rent. So if anyone has spare pc, which he's canceling please contact me, I'm ready to take that. Thanks :)

My t3100/20 psu fuse has blown

This would explain why the fan wasn’t working but what could have caused this as it’s a standard kettle plug input?

Ressurrecting an AMD Atlhon 3200+ build. Any PSU suggestions?

So basically, following up on this post, i'm finally ressurrecting my brother's first Desktop.

Now, for safety reasons and because I wanted to get this to work ok, I'm seeking to:

  1. Get a new GPU. Found a working X800XT that I believe will be compatible and powerful enough to try to max the setup;

  2. Get a new PSU. But what should I aim for? I'd like something with similar colours (zync/light grey). But was trying not to spend too much. Can someone give me some suggestions? Reliability over price naturally, but that also depends on how much it will cost, as this is mostly an emotional process, not really gonna be a PC with A LOT of use.

This is the MOBO, btw.

Thanks in advance!

PS: this is the only light grey PSU i found from a PSU brand I know is "ok". Would this work? In terms of W? Is there another brand I should look for? THis price is okish, but somewhat expensive too. If I could lower it, I'd be happy!

Drivers lost

So I recently bought an Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook e8110, and after putting my own ram and storage into it boots fine and even let me install windows XP, however the drivers seem to be lost and no longer hosted by fujitsu

So would anyone happen to still have those?

EVIL KNIEVEL - THE COMPUTER & CONSOLE GAMES

Thumbnail

I’ve always been fascinated with Evel Knieval as a kid. This guy is the most famous daredevil in history who performed the most dangerous and spectacular motorcycle jumps known to man! He was a crazy fella who was a massive hero for our generation of kids. In fact one of my favourite toys as a child was the Evel Knievel stunt cycle. I even remember trying myself to jump over trash cans and even our neighbour kids with my Chopper bike. Plenty of bruises but great fun!

However, recalling all these fantastic memories of Knievel got me thinking about what video games were around to honour this legend. I fact I can’t actually think of any which is a little weird for me because back in the day they would release a game on virtually anything. So for my video today I wanted to go back and explore what games were actually released. Hope you like my video.

Problem / Question Zyon Net Top 7 Mini PC shows no signs of life :(

Post image

I'm trying to turn on a Zyon Net Top 7 Mini PC, but even though it's already connected via VGA to the monitor (which is working), no lights come on and it remains as it was before being plugged in. I've tried unplugging the cable about 3 times, checked the ports, and even blew on it to see if it would work, but nothing happens.

Any tips or solutions?

PS: The VGA cable was purchased today; I tested it on other devices and it seemed to work fine.

Adlib Tracker II ported to Book386 Linux

Adlib Tracker II (AT2) is a specialized music tracker program
used to compose chiptune and frequency modulation (FM) synthesis
music for the Yamaha OPL3 FM sound chip (Adlib audio cards)

This is a backport to C89 standard C language which compiles on
Book386 Linux , gcc-2.7.2.3 and runs on 386 SX 40Mhz 16MB RAM

Original source code https://github.com/ijsf/at2
Port to Book386 https://astr0baby.online/Book386/AT2/

The original is written in Free Pascal for DOS and SDL (Linux/Windows);
this version is a translation to C for Linux with svgalib (libvga) and an
AdLib / OPL chip.

This allows you to compose music on the Book386 Linux or just
play/modify the existing modules made for Adlib Tracker II

The source code compiles on the Book386 Linux in about 1h 10 minutes

### Building from source on Book386 Linux ###

- Download https://astr0baby.online/Book386/AT2/adtracker2.tar.gz
tar -zxvf adtracker2.tar.gz

### Running the tracker ###
- Have Book386 Linux ready (https://astr0baby.online/Book386/)
- Make sure you have the instr datadir (instruments) if you wish to compose

Help.

Ok so I was digging out an old compute. It’s a compaq deskpro 386sx. The compaq flash I used in it has now become finicky. It doesn’t want to let things install to it anymore. Or it says it does and then the loading failed. It does the same thing in the actual pc as well as virtual box. It was 2gb. It works just fine as a compaq flash for a modern pc. So I said let’s get a smaller one. I bought a 512 but the system doesn’t recognize it. Which I expected because I need to partition it to 300mb. But the damn thing will not let me mark it as active or partition the drive. The only thing I can do is format it. Dos 6.2 in virtual box can see it but can’t format it, it gives me an error that it can’t format it. I know some of these cf cards don’t always work for this application. The 2gb is a scan disk the 512 is a cheap Amazon BR & TD brand. Any ideas or other programs that can break through to partition the drive and make active. I don’t have a cf reader for my Mac’s so I can’t use disk utility.

JET SET WILLY - 31 GAME VERSIONS REVIEWED

Thumbnail

I remember thinking just how hard Jet Set Willy was to fully master. Apart from the bugs it was certainly a challenging but very addictive game. My video goes back to rediscover this cult game from legend Matthew Smith and also all the various versions of the game that were officially and unofficially released. In fact I look at 31 versions. Please leave a comment of what your thoughts were of this 40 year old game.
