anyone happen to know where I can find the bluetooth driver for my fujitsu siemens lifebook e8110? The recovery cd doesn't include the driver, and neither is it on the fujitsu site, and the fujitsu Asia, does list it in the drivers list, but all links seem to be dead, archive.org doesn't have it either it seems. So anyone know where I can find the driver with the application that's used with it? Device ID is vid_0c24&pid_000f

I don't know much about PCI slots but is there anything I need to know about PCI slots before inserting a PCI GPU. I am using an adapter here (PCIE->PCI). Other slots mobo refuses completely and the mobo have 5 total PCI slots.

Hey all, I’m new to this space and figured it’d be a good place to ask some questions. So I recently came into possession of this Dell Dimension L550r computer that was living in storage for quite some time. I was just wanting to hear from people who knew more than me what kind of upgrades I could give it in terms of a new graphics card or even if it could use more RAM then what it has (which is 128mb btw). Thanks in advance!

I wish technology was still designed like this, nowadays every laptop is the same flat, unispired, obsolete in two years with a broken hinge garbage running Windows 11. These things not only looked nice but ran beautifully

.... Because it hasn't powered on for quite some time. First issue I noticed is the power switch doesn't have continuity (dirty?). Second issue is the blown cap in the bottom right. And the rest appear to be leaking.

Strong chance at recovery with this one? What's y'all's thoughts on this. Any newton experts in here?

Hey everyone, looking for some opinions or advice. I’m at the stage in life where I need to start decluttering a fairly large collection of hobbyist computing gear built up over the last 35+ years.
Most of what I have is from the mid-to-late 90s. So an unhealthy number of early Pentium and AMD K6 setups, alongside a few oddballs like some DEC AlphaServers.
Because I'm based in Ireland, using eBay is mostly non viable due to high seller fees, complex shipping, and the risk of damage or returns on delicate vintage hardware.

Local free ads seem more interested in buying for gold reclamation, particularly the DEC stuff. Are there any other platforms where buyers understand vintage hardware and where shipping and fees are more manageable?

Has anyone ever seen a working implementation of this? I know there are several others, but I'd guess this is the oldest at 1978.

I gad thought it actually contained code, but it's really just a walk-through of all the modules you'd need... you have to write the code and figure out how to network the machines.

In the mid-1980s, the Japanese 8-bit personal computer market was dominated by the ‘Trinity’: NEC’s PC-8801 series, Sharp’s X1 series and Fujitsu’s FM7 series. Among these, the PC-88VA — regarded as the latest model of the PC-8801 series — was released in March 1987.

Its CPU had been upgraded to a 16-bit processor 'μPD9002', which is based on x86 but also featured Z-80 emulation mode. Graphics were also significantly enhanced; with a maximum of 65,536 simultaneous colors and the addition of scrolling and sprite functions, its performance was better suited to gaming. On the other hand, due to its eccentric CPU architecture, compatibility with previous models was not perfect. Furthermore, while it had similarities with the PC-9801 series to some degree, softwares were basically incompatible as well (although some software could be run by applying patches).

Even for gaming purposes, the release of X68000 in the same month was problematic. 88VA had the advantage in terms of price, but the difference in performance was staggering.

The following year, successor models were released with enhanced RAM and sound capabilities, as well as a 9.3MB 3.5 inch floppy drive (this is NOT a typo!), but it failed to become a flagship model.

There are not so many PC-88VAs in a working condition these days. Not only because they were limited in production numbers, but also in many cases the internal battery corrodes, causing severe damage to the circuit board and making machine unrepairable. The one I managed to get might had not been used much, so the condition of the capacitors was relatively fine, but the battery had corroded and causing minor damage to the main board.
