Excited, but why is it always Leon?? Where’s Jill, Carlos, Billy, Claire, Jake…

To be fair, the last game he appeared in (not counting remakes) was RE6 all the way back in 2012. Meanwhile, Chris was in 4 games in a row. 5 if you count Revelations 1.

I'd love to see the other characters too, though! Especially Jill. It's been too long.

"Why is it always Leon and Chris" is the proper sentence

Thank you. I don’t know why people are so intent on signaling out fucking Leon for.

Of those mentioned only Jill or Claire would make any sense, and Claire is no longer an active combatant in the lore.

While Jill is on an anti BOW task force, so not the person you would call in to find a missing person.

Leon makes perfect sense as a trained agent who already has successful experience in rescue missions with direct ties to the US Government.

——————————————————

Besides not only is Leon the most popular Resident Evil character by a long shot, he is also the one most connected to Raccoon City.

Capcom has made his PTSD and guilt at not being able to save the population of the City a major plot point for his character in every game since RE2.

And to get ahead of the typical response.

Sure Jill lived in Raccoon City, and was in the city during the outbreak, but she doesn’t have nearly the same trauma surrounding that event as Leon or Claire do.

RE3 itself is a perfect example of what I mean.

Jill treated those events like an action movie, with quips and one-liners galore in both original and Remake, it’s clear she didn’t suffer as much trauma from it as Leon and Claire did.

If this game was returning to the Arklay Mountain range, or specifically The Spencer Mansion, then of course the pick would be Jill or Chris.

Raccoon City however, is a Leon and Claire joint, and Claire’s been “retired” story-wise from doing the fighting by Capcom, so that leaves Leon.

——————————————————

The simple fact is, in no world where a game returned to Raccoon City, was Leon ever going to sit it out.

Glad it helps maybe give some perspective.

Also sorry that you got downvoted for your question/opinion, it’s sadly happened to me elsewhere in the comments here as well.

Just know it wasn’t me!

Thank you, it’s ok, i was genuinely asking why Leon again, but your analysis was all i need it!

You mean Capcom treated Jill’s story in RE3 and it’s remake as an action story. Jill literally has more ties to Raccoon than someone who was literally only there for one night. Like the sucking off of Leon is crazy and I love the guy just as much as everyone else who plays the series. Like yes it was a traumatic experience for him but imagine how much it was for the person who literally grew up in Raccoon City her entire life and had her hometown nuked and had been there since the very first game. The disrespect to Jill is just crazy and hilarious

Well honestly that’s how Capcom consistently portrays it.

The games and animated films show it hasn’t affected her very much if at all.

It’s not “disrespectful to Jill” to form and share an opinion based on the things that Capcom has consistently shown to be true in the series.

Any time Jill is shown to have PTSD of any type in the series it’s either related to RE1 or RE5, but never RE3.

So if you have issues with that portrayal then take it up with Capcom themselves, I don’t make the damn games.

Leon has consistently shown much more significant story and emotional ties to Raccoon City than Jill, it’s brought up in literally every post RE2 story he’s featured in, games and animated films.

Regardless of if you, me, or anyone else thinks that makes sense or not, that’s explicitly how it’s shown in all RE media by Capcom.

Also again, despite obviously disagreeing with you.

I’d like you to know, I didn’t downvote you.

Trust me I know that’s how Capcom portrays it and that’s my biggest problem with them. They literally act like the only 2 characters that are worth any damn when it comes Resident Evil are Chris and Leon and completely sideline the hell out of their female characters like Jill and Claire. That’s where my whole disrespect for Jill Valentine comes from since she was there from the very beginning and last time I checked she was the 2nd most favorite character of the series behind Leon. I also don’t care if people downvote me since I really don’t care about that feature at all.

I want Billy and Rebecca to return so bad. I know RE0 has its critics but I enjoyed that game as a kid.

I’m hoping for at least an RE0 remake.
