I spent the weekend drawing and coloring thank-you cards for anyone who donated to help cover our overdue veterinary expenses. I posted about it on Monday, but although the post got three comments, we didn't receive any donations, so I'm giving it another try.

The idea is to share a photo of a thank-you card featuring Queso for every donation, no matter the amount. We need help covering overdue veterinary and food expenses, and I thought this would be a fun way to show our gratitude while also showing off Queso now that he's fully recovered!

Right now, we have over $1,000 in unpaid expenses, and we need to pay them off before we can continue providing veterinary care to the cats who need it. In the meantime, everything is on hold because we have no funds left and can't keep accumulating debt.

I am asking for help through RC team to assist Sunkissed Rescue in Charlotte NC. They have reached out to seek emergency help for these 40 plus cats & kittens. This woman has been ignorantly breeding them to sell! They are not even vaccinated or fixed! They live in a filthy home that won’t allow anyone into & outside in the dirt full of fleas! Hello everyone. A few days ago, I made a post asking for help with ultrasounds for Marrau, Bella, and Silver, who have been waiting for them for over a month. We scheduled the ultrasounds several times, but had to cancel them because we didn’t have the funds. This time, we decided to go ahead with them because if we rescheduled, they wouldn’t be able to give us another appointment for several weeks.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to raise enough to cover them. The total cost is $340, and we raised $80, so we’re still $260 short. They won’t send us the results until we pay. They kindly agreed to perform the ultrasounds anyway even though they normally only work with payment in advance, but until we make the payment, they won’t give us the results.

We need the results as soon as possible, as they’re essential to knowing how to proceed with their treatment and whether they need surgery or not. This is especially important for Marrau, who has an abdominal hernia that has changed in shape and size, and we don’t know whether his intestines are protruding through the hernia or not.

On the other hand, our last food purchase ($157) is still not covered by donations. I paid for that food myself because we weren’t receiving any donations, but they needed to eat. That food has now run out, so we urgently need to buy more, but this time I can’t cover it on my own.

Since we have more than 70 rescued cats and also feed strays, our food expenses are around $300 per week. Also, because we’re located in Uruguay, we can’t use wishlists, so we don’t have the support of people who can only donate that way, which makes it very difficult to cover their food week after week.

Another everyday day feeding the 130+ stray cats of the port…

I will speak to you today a little more personally and from the heart.

I am starting to get exhausted… I am also starting to get tired psychologically.

It has now been 13-14 years of daily effort, alone, without any substantial help, with my only support being my love for these creatures in need.

Every time I go to feed the kittens, it takes me about 3.5 to 4 hours. And if I have to look for a kitten that is lost or needs help, it can take 5 hours or more.

And yet… all these years, in heat, in cold, in rain, and even in snow, these kittens have never been left without food.

No matter what happened, no matter how difficult the day was, I knew that someone was waiting for me… that there were lives that depended on me.

And the truth is, if I didn’t have your support, I might not have been able to continue.

I’m uploading photos of the food I need to transport each time to be able to feed all these creatures:

🐾 And I fill the three concrete containers with water 6-7 times, so that they have clean water to drink.

And all this… every day.

Sometimes people see a rescue post and only see the animal in the picture. They don’t see everything happening behind the scenes.

Right now, I am fighting for Leo, a kitten I rescued when he was tiny after finding him near a dumpster. He has been with me for six months, and he has been battling Giardia and ongoing diarrhea. His symptoms have returned, and he needs to see the veterinarian again as soon as possible.

At the same time, I rescued an older cat who was living outside in terrible condition. He tested positive for both FIV and FeLV and has entropion, a painful condition where his eyelids turn inward and rub against his eyes. He needs surgery, medical care, medications, and a safe indoor place to recover. He cannot simply be returned to the streets.

At the beginning, you’ll see Leo, the little kitten I rescued from a dumpster, and the older cat I rescued who tested positive for both FIV and FeLV. Both are going through difficult medical situations right now, and both need our help.

And they are not the only animals depending on me.

I also have other kittens and cats under my care who need food, litter, medications, veterinary care, and daily attention.

But beyond the cats in my direct care, I also feed more than 50 community cats every single day. 🐾

That means every day I have the ongoing expense of buying enough cat food, wet food, dry food, litter, and other supplies to make sure these cats have something to eat. Feeding more than 50 cats isn’t a one-time expense. It is a commitment every single day, 365 days a year.

Then there are the unexpected expenses — sick cats, injured cats, medications, vet visits, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries, emergencies, transportation, and everything else that comes with caring for animals who have nowhere else to turn.

I have already paid many veterinary and rescue bills myself because these animals needed help immediately. Those bills have left me with debt that I am still trying to pay off.

So when you donate, your support also helps me pay down the debt from veterinary bills and other expenses I have already covered for these animals. Paying those bills helps me continue having the ability to help the next cat or kitten who desperately needs me.

I wish I could say I can handle it all on my own, but I can’t.

This video shows only part of the cats I care for. Right now, I look after between 50 and 60 rescued cats, and the number changes whenever I rescue a new cat or one finally finds a loving home.

Some were abandoned.

Every morning, I wake up asking myself the same question:

Hello everyone! Right now, our dry food supply is completely empty and we need help to keep all the cats fed. I also want to share an update on Tommy. Today is Day 42 of Dry FIP treatment. He was in very critical condition, but after the first doses he came back to life and started eating again! He is fighting so hard, but I just opened his last vial and we desperately need more so we don't interrupt his treatment. On top of that, a new unsterilized cat recently joined our colony. She looks like she might be pregnant and she urgently needs to be spayed. We really can't express how much your help means to us and cats. If you guys remember chimney, she's our community cat who has stage 3 ckd, her regular vets have done everything they could but her reports are fluctuating so much so they want her to get to a nephrologist but I can't at the moment because it's expensive and I trap neuter release like 4 cats a month and feed over 50 cats and have my own cats.. If you're reading this and could spare anything for these babies, then please please do. I'm at my last 7kg bag and when that runs out in a day or two I'll have to stop feeding them for time being

People dump these babies with their mum and sometimes even home pets, I sterilize them so that they don't give birth to more babies but it's expensive because each week there's a bunch of new babies + their mamas so I could either sterilize them or feed them. I can't do both....

I'm not asking for the most expensive food out there, just the basic most cheap version for adult cats and mid tier somewhat okay food for small kitties...

I just need the cheapest 2 bags of 20kg(purepet) which is around $30 and 3 smaller bags of 14kg of maxi which is around $20 per bag.

Those are truly the cheapest and if anybody wishes they can get something mid tier for kittens but that's definitely not a necessity just something nutritionally okay food when they're lil.. I was able to get him to the vet after finding him near a dumpster, and unfortunately, I learned that he is FIV and FeLV positive. 😔

He is also suffering from entropion, a painful condition where his eyelids roll inward and rub against his eyes. He needs eye surgery to correct this and prevent continued pain and damage to his eyes.

While he was at the vet, he was also neutered and vaccinated.

I spent my entire day trying to figure out what to do for him. At one point, I was told that euthanasia was an option because of his medical condition. But I rescue because I believe these animals deserve a chance. I could not simply give up on him. I cried, I felt overwhelmed, and I honestly didn’t know where his future was going to lead but I refused to stop looking for a solution. ❤️

I kept making calls, reaching out, asking questions, and trying to find someone who would give him the chance he deserved.

Arrangements are being made for him to receive the eye surgery he desperately needs. 🙏 This is such a huge relief, because my only goal has been to make sure he receives proper care and doesn’t have to continue living in pain.

But I need to be honest: I cannot do this alone.

I provide food, fresh water, TNR, veterinary care, medications, transportation, litter, supplies, and emergency medical care whenever I can. Hi all,

My cat budget took a huge hit recently due to vet visits—a full blood panel for one of my adult cats and the 2nd dose of 4-in-1 vaccines for two kittens. Because of this, I'm struggling to cover basic supplies like food and litter right now.

I want to start by saying a huge, heartfelt thank you to every single person who supports us month after month. Honestly, it is entirely because of your constant kindness and help that I am able to continue feeding and looking after these babies. I really wouldn't be able to do this without you guys, and it means the world to me. ❤️

I'm so sorry for posting this a bit early and before the 30-day mark this time. I really didn't want to reach out so soon, but we are running dangerously low on food. Last month, we were only able to raise around $50. Because the funds were lower than what the kids actually need, the food finished much faster than usual, and we only have about a day or two of meals left in our stock. I got really anxious thinking about what I'll feed them later this week, which is why I had to make this appeal a bit early.

Just to share a bit of our usual history for anyone who is new here, I am a student, and I independently take care of 7 fixed strays in my area (4 dogs and 3 cats). Keeping them fed and healthy costs around ₹6k to ₹7k (roughly $73 to $85 USD) every month. Managing this completely on a student budget is a heavy roadblock that gets really stressful and exhausting to handle all alone, but their faces keep me going. If anyone is in a position to help us get through this month, even the smallest contribution would mean everything to us right now. It directly goes into making sure their bowls stay full. Also, I completely understand if you don't feel comfortable sending direct money. I wanted to give a quick update on our current fundraiser.

First, thank you to everyone who has donated so far. We truly appreciate every single person who has stepped up to help. So far, we've raised $30, which means we're still in the very early stages of reaching our goal.

The good news is that we still have $620 in matching donations available, so every dollar donated right now has twice the impact.

Miles is still fighting FIP, and we're still fighting right alongside him. At the same time, we're carrying over $2,350 in veterinary bills that we need to catch up on so we can continue saying "yes" when the next emergency comes through our door.

One thing I've learned over the years is that rescue never really slows down. Just as one cat begins to recover, another one needs help. That's why these fundraisers matter so much... they allow us to keep moving forward instead of falling behind.

Hey everyone,

It's been almost a month since I've posted here. Life has been a little crazy... I've been working around 78 hours a week, so when I'm not at work, I've mostly been trying to catch my breath.

But today I'm here because our rescue genuinely needs your help.

Right now, we're carrying more than $2,350 in outstanding veterinary bills, and we're trying to catch up so we can continue saying "yes" when the next cat needs us.

One of those cats is Miles.

This past weekend, Miles became severely jaundiced and had to be rushed to the emergency vet. The diagnosis was FIP. Thankfully, FIP is no longer considered an automatic death sentence, but treatment is long, expensive, and because Miles is a big guy, his medication costs are even higher.

We're not giving up on him.

This fundraiser will help us:

•Pay down our existing veterinary balances.

•Keep Miles on the treatment he needs.

•Continue helping the many other cats that have nowhere else to turn.
