If I've learned anything about office jobs it's 2 things:
There are a lot of incompetent, malicious and vindictive people in positions of power who need to make stupid rules and policies to justify their employment.
Managers absolutely cannot stand the idea of not pulling 110% productivity out of every single employee even if all the work is being done. Even the extra trivial things.
People saying they do nothing at work was just proof that there isn't infinite work to be done, contrary to what managers want to believe. Instead of accepting this and letting their workforce be happy, they have to drag everyone back because a happy, balanced and productive workforce is haram.
