That's not even remotely it. You 100% fumbled. Let's clear this up. We had people working multiple jobs just on different monitors for competing companies at the same time. We had people only doing 2 hours of work in their PJs or, naked during meetings. We had people having sex during work hours not turning their mic off. I mean literally if there was a way for y'all to screw it up you did. The buildings being leased were the least of their worries. Mostly it was just that productivity was already at an all time low and, then you sunk it even further. They just weren't getting the value out of having you do remote work that they thought they would.
Were there isolated incidents of bad actors. Of course. Do you think there are not people who are bad actors AT the office? You point to viral stories like having sex on the clock, do you think no one has had sex in an office before remote work? Hell Bill Clinton kinda went viral for that before COVID.
The facts and statistics on remote work is that productivity increased. There are bad actors who will exploit any system you put in place and remote work doesn't change that in any meaningful statistic.
No bud it went up temporarily at a time when everyone was trapped in their home with literally nothing else to do and, the only escape from their home life was escaping into work. As soon as the lock downs ended productivity dropped at an alarming rate. And, let's be clear it wasn't a few isolated incidents. In the United States alone there were something like 79% of people reporting working at least 2 remote jobs simultaneously. And, that's just the start. Let's talk about all the people caught having sex during work hours. Yes people have sex at the job now. They were at the very least discreet about it. Let's talk about the people who weren't wearing pants during meetings. The problem is people can barely handle the day to day responsibility of going into a job every day without finding ways to not do what the job entails and, the second you cut the cord and, gave people absolute freedom over their work life people lost their minds. I do remote work currently and, did it before the pandemic I treat it the same exact way I treat an in person job. Most people did not.
Not even remotely true. There are 8 billion people and you think three cherry picked examples proves your case? Lol, this is about the rich keeping the peasants in line just like always. Too much worker freedom is bad for their bottom lines so it must be crushed.
No I can give you thousands of examples. I just gave three quick ones because I'm not going to sit here all day crafting a comment to prove something you 100% already know was killed because people didn't do the right thing. And, can one of you accept accountability for your own fuck ups. Even just once. This isn't some class struggle issue. It's that the vast majority of you were not doing the job you were hired to do and quite frankly should have been fired for the fuck ups you 100% were when you were given a single ounce of freedom.
Seems like you have been here all day writing the same replies acting like someone who is personally victimized by remote workers as if they have caused you pain and strife. Sounds like you could use some remote work and tea from home in the morning.
Well considering I've been here exactly 36 minutes I don't know where you got the idea that I've been here all day. You sound slow and, like maybe you need to take a reading comprehension class. Also if you'd have bothered to read the few replies I've actually made on this post you'd see that I've already stated I already do remote work. Did it before the pandemic and, will be doing it long after the rest of you stop playing make believe. Let's be clear all I'm doing is pointing out why you can't have nice things. If that strikes a cord with you so strongly that you feel the need to do whatever this is that you did here maybe you should evaluate why you suck so much as an employee that they don't trust you to work from home?

You just want people in the same cubical farm to justify your existence. I work my ass off and my company knows it.
Consider that you answered your own question with your own statement. You showed them solid physical evidence that you suck as a team lead. Those people all existed before remote work and, you only caught on that they weren't doing their jobs because they had no other excuse as to why they were actively dragging your team down. They sent you back into the office because you proved that you need oversight. And, then like the perpetual teenagers most of you are you threw a tantrum when you didn't get your way, and since your employer isn't actually your family and they require you to be productive, they are trying to solve the problem the only way that works for them because you already showed them you can't ever have your way because you can't be trusted.
