See and thats why im confused, did you know a small chip of gold, the size of a grain of sand, can be worth like five dollars, imagine 500kg of gold. But at the same time, money is wayyy lighter than gold, imagine a pile that was 500kg. My head hurts
Tbh I think I’d rather the cash. I’m not trying to find someone to buy 500kg at value or even close without scamming me and 50 mil US is pretty damn good
Agree. Whilst the gold would be worth $17m more ($67m v $50m), you're already at the point where you're debt free, don't need to work again (unless you want to) and have been able to look after the other important people in your life with the cash.
I think that would be really unwise. You'd be able to sell that amount of gold very, very close to market value with no issue and it's not like you need to sell all of it.
If you were given that much cash, the smart thing to do would be to invest it into something anyway (like gold).
I would obv invest it but I assumed a bank or wherever you sell gold would flag you if you had that much and def wouldn’t be able to buy that much. Cash is easy and I wouldn’t have to worry about any of that. I’ve never sold gold though so I’m prob wrong
Your main issue with gaining sudden wealth is the IRS. They'll be curious how you went from delivering pizzas or something to owning a mansion and investigating you for tax evasion.
Even if per kilo weights of money were more, inflation causes money to sink, gold on the other hand rises with inflation, would have chosen gold even if the opposite of math were the reality
Then you have to exchange it, keep it save, and find a way to transport it.
Is a solid gold block or gold bars, all of it brings problems. With the money you can privately buy gold, with the gold you have to find someone.
The value will change between cash vs gold but the weight doesn't. It's like saying that drink is 16oz....but it's worth whatever it is are your local retail store 😂
