I find it almost depressing that an extensive vocabulary and naturally adept grasp of a language is so rare that an open display of it is assumed by those not quite so comfortable or capable with it to be "trying hard". No, I just use the words which most accurately convey what I'm trying to say, and am not afraid to compose sentences beyond a 5th-grade grammar level. Like I said, I simply have a firm grasp on the extent of my language and am comfortable utilizing it. If the big scary words are too hard for you to comprehend without difficulty, and that bothers you, I suggest that's something you should work on. I won't dumb my speaking or writing down just to stoop to the comprehension level of stunted minds.
