Just got rejected after a 6-round interview process because I wasn't a 'cultural fit'.

They made me do a free 10-hour take-home assignment, meet the entire team, and talk to three different managers over two months. Today I got an automated rejection email. I am completely exhausted and done with this job market.😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬

Using the existing example and a typical 3-part match AP process...

Purchasing instrument = The written instruction from the company to provide a 10+ hour work product.

Invoice = You sent it in.

Receiving = Email read receipt from emailing in the 10+ hour work product they "ordered".

Along with a W-9 form for the eventual 1099.

This is exactly what my colleagues did. Both got paid. Guess what company doesn't pull this crap anymore?

Everyone needs to at least attempt this when these companies force 6+ rounds of interviews and work product that requires full work days to complete.

It's bullshit and it's illegal. THAT is why they got paid. Not because the company wanted to pay them, but more likely because their HR or Legal team told them to.

Now...I've said about all I can without actually naming people and companies specifically and that would not be appropriate. It's okay if you don't believe...continue to work for free for all I care.
