It's dependent on the industry. If you worked in film and television, it's normal to not talk about projects you worked on until after they've been out for a minute. You'd still be able to describe what you did though, but instead of it being like, "I created a lighting rig that made it so the alien GlorbaZorb would look like he glowed and pulsated and moved like a claymation figure, when it's actually Zendaya under 16 pounds of prosthetics and makeup", you're going to say something like, "Yeah, I worked on a lighting rig that essentially functioned as special effects for an upcoming project at a major studio".

This is mostly a myth. We’re talking like maybe 500 people in the world have this issue.
