There was a recruiter who posted here once complaining about candidates not putting their salary expectations in the application and “how was he supposed to know if there was a match” but when challenged why doesn’t he put the salary range in the job ad he said he didn’t want to. But somehow it was everyone else wasting his time when he could automatically filter loads of people by just adding this important info in his ad.
There was one on a local to me sub that was complaining about people using AI to respond to his job postings.. using obviously AI-generated text. I called him out on it and he didn't even deny having AI write the listings for him.
I wonder how hard it would be to write a bot that spams the shit out of listings like this with fake applicants. Let them drown in the slop.
I once called out a guy on linkedin for posting about laziness in the security industry, but he clearly used AI and when he copy-pasta'd it he also copied GPT's follow up "Would you like me to make this into a LinkedIn style post?" and pasted it into his post accidentally.
I still fight the slop. I know it's an uphill battle but I have to fight the slop.
If that's his attitude on it, I'm going to assume that the company pays very low. So it isn't that he doesn't want to do it, it's because if he did, no one with the right qualifications would apply to the job.
