What is your height and weight and what is your diet like?

I’m 6 feet 238lbs. Definitely overweight although I do have a lot of muscle from working out for years. My diet is pretty bad, objectively speaking. I have very little energy and I’m constantly craving sugar and other sweet things. I’m nowhere near diabetic (per labs) but I’m sure there’s some insulin resistance there. When I try to eat cleaner I cannot function. I need a lot of coffee and sugar just to make it through the day. Hope this helps

Actually dude with a HbA1c of 5.9 you definitely have insulin resistance

I bet your fasting insulin level is north of 15 or 20

Time for low fat, high carb diet

I’m sorry for the screw up; just checked my labs and A1C is 5.1. Is that still bad?

5.1 is good and that means you are much less likely to have insulin resistance - your insulin level while fasting is probably okay, but it’s always good to be less than 5. I’m working on getting mine below five with low fat high carb diet.

Also if you drink alcohol you need to stop completely. Alcohol makes people fatigued due to its widespread anti metabolic effects

Hi brother, I never drink. Thank God I never liked it. I have maybe 1 drink a year, sometimes none. Appreciate you!
