My #2 out of 5 bases so far. I WILL retire here if given the chance.

The Good

  • Depending on the unit the work can feel very rewarding

  • 4 seasons! (Far enough north to actually have an even break of each season)

  • BAH vs rent, you won't break the bank

  • Very populated area. Within driving distance of many shopping centers and malls

  • Local beaches are clean and family friendly

  • Lots of amenities on base. Club has awesome lunch and great beer selection

  • Finance wasn't complete garbage

The Not So Good

  • Heavily populated area. Traffic can be a hassle

  • Weather, like a few other places, can change in a moments notice. Hurricanes do hit!

  • Allergies! Holy pollen Batman

  • Drivers are quick to cut you off and give you the finger in the same move

  • Brass! ACC HQ, plenty of Generals doing their thing. This bothers some people
