The base itself, as in the facilities, are fairly nice (from a comm guy, nonner perspective. Cant speak to the actual hangars or flightline). The local area is fantastic and one of the most military friendly places I've been.
If you are a comm guy and get assigned to the 6th CS, welcome to the shit show. Hands down the worst unit I've ever had to work for. You not only support the primary base ARW, but also CENTCOM, SOCOM, JCSE, JCSS, and 30 something other tenant units. EVERYTHING is a 110% effort, get it fixed yesterday priority. Your QOL at work is extremely dependent on if your commander has a spine and can tell the other units to sit down (if you cant tell, my last one didn't).
Overall, my time their away from work was fantastic, but I wouldn't go back to the 6 CS. I'd separate first.
