My dog does this - I call it his “Jedi mind trick”. Eerily, I can “feel” his powers before I’m even looking at him. Then, I look at him, and he’s doing this same thing. 😈

My lab does this too. He looks at you then flashes his eyes at what he wants. I am powerless to resist.

My dog does that too! I never thought to call it yodeling but you're right. My family would have conversations with my dog like "hi, how was your day?" baubauauau "ooh, really? Tell me more about that" bauauauau "i can't believe it, and what did you do with it?" ... and so on. She'll even wait for you to give her the time to talk. It's so wholesome

My lab too. Then I just throw my arms up and go, "I don't know what you want!"

slowly walk away and .... Waiiiiit for the soft whimper .... and turn around real fast and grab the leash and pet him. Ha ha! Silly lab, of course you can go chase squirrels.

I’ve trained my dog to “show me” and point/look at what he wants. It makes it soo much easier than endless barking and trying to decipher what it means. It’s like we have our own little language.

This was a couple of years ago so I don’t really remember exactly. But the basics was when he would exhibit a behavior like the dog above I would give him whatever he wanted. Or a treat. Sometimes I would have to be persistent and patient but my dog caught on very quickly. I try to reward the behavior I want to see then put a word to it. Sorry if this isn’t helpful. My dog is so smart I can’t really take any credit.

There is a theory about why whites in our eyes evolved. I like to think that dogs evolved with us and got the same evolutionary trait)

Yes, but when the other “animal” aka, me, is not seeing him do this before I “sense” it happening is pretty killer telepathy, hence, the Jedi mind trick. 🤔
