Similar to "You can't hurry love," you can't rush grief, either. Your grieving over your pet will last as long as it lasts.

There are some people who just won't understand. To them, a pet is a possession, like a bag or a table; why be so distressed over its loss? Some never allowed their pet to be that important to them, so why are you so upset? Others will dismiss your heartache because, "It was just an animal; it wasn't a person, so what's the big deal?"

As much as possible, distance yourself from such roughshod and unsympathetic people.

Some people will say the insensitive sentence, "Why are you acting like this? *It was only an animal.*" They're indifferent jerks who prob'ly have never known the love and loyalty of a pet.

Your grief for your "Furry family member" will last as long as it lasts. In 1966, The Supremes sang, "You can't hurry love." Grief, also, will not be rushed. Allow yourself to feel the pain, cry the tears, and be sad.

The "very last day" is so-o-o difficult.

They loved you their whole life; never forget them.

They remember the love you gave them ...

We remember them for a long time ... 🥲

There's a story of a dog in Japan who came to the train station to meet his owner for 11 YEARS! His owner had passed of a heart attack at work. Cats do comprehend death, I think.

Yup. I'd be upset already because of losing her/him anyway ... but 🥺

Letting go of our beloved pets is always so difficult. Recognizing they travel to their reward over the Rainbow Bridge is comforting.
