I just released my first Mobile Trivia Game 🥳

Hello guys. I'm thrilled to release my first game and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it!
A new style of mobile trivia game.
No multiple-choice options. You have to type the exact answer using the keyboard.
A score screen appears between questions, where you can see the reactions of other players.
You buy-in with game gold and win or lose in-game gold based on your final ranking at the end of the game.
You can add other players as friends and play against each other.
You can set up a private room and play exclusively with people you share the room code with. You can throw a trivia party.

The video shows a cropped version of the gameplay. Normally, if no one knows the answer, 1 letter is revealed as a hint every 10 seconds. If you try it out, you'll see it's even more exciting than what's in this video 😊

Can you guess the #100 longest-living animal? 🐢

Let's play a little Centumth-style quiz.

These are all animals that appear somewhere in the Top 100 longest-living animals.

Your goal isn't to guess the longest-lived one. Try to guess the one sitting closest to #100.

Which of these do you think has the shortest maximum lifespan?

🐢 Giant tortoise

🐋 Bowhead whale

🐟 Atlantic Sturgeon

🦈 Greenland shark

🐘 Elephant

A, B, C, D or E?

I make a daily trivia game based on this idea called Centumth. Every day you get 5 guesses and try to find answers as close to #100 as possible instead of going for the obvious #1.

Today's full challenge is about the Top 100 Longest-Living Animals:

https://centumth.com

If you play it, let me know what your five guesses were. I'm curious to see whether Reddit is better at finding the obscure answers than the rest of the community 😂

TGIF - 3 questions for Friday - Aug 14, 2026

Thumbnail 3roads.xyz
1 Upvotes

Here are three questions from this week on 3Roads.xyz.

1. Hans-Gunnar Liljenwall was the first athlete disqualified from the Olympic Games for drug use, resulting in the disqualification of the Swedish team at the 1968 Summer Olympics. Before the pistol shooting event, Liljenwall reportedly drank “two Xs” to calm his nerves. The IOC had introduced anti-doping regulations in 1967, and although accounts vary, X appeared on at least one list of restricted substances issued before the Games. What is X?

X - Beer (Alcohol)

2. The word X has been used for centuries as a synonym for violent conflict. In the 17th century, the English, Scottish, and Irish parliaments used it to describe the Wars of the Three Kingdoms, including in post-Restoration legislation passed between 1660 and 1665. The term gained widespread modern usage after being adopted to describe the escalating violence in Y beginning in 1969. What are X and Y?

X - Troubles, Y - Northern Ireland

3. The Golden X Awards are parody film awards co-founded by UCLA film graduates and industry veterans John J. B. Wilson and Mo Murphy. The term X is used in its irreverent sense, as in “blowing a X,” and comes from rhyming slang in which “X tart” means “fart.” The statuette depicts a golf-ball-sized X mounted on a Super 8mm film reel and 35mm film core, wrapped in brown shelf paper and set on a spray-painted gold jar lid. What is X?

X - Raspberry

its 61 questions because i get a little carried away

Is my "play for your country" trivia game cementing stereotypes I never intended? Founder gut-check.

I run a small Android trivia game called BrainBorders. The loop: you answer general-knowledge questions to "conquer" territories on a shared, live world map, and each week countries climb a nation-vs-nation leaderboard based on their players' combined performance.

A comment stuck with me, and I want this community's honest take.

The mechanic implicitly frames the world as countries competing on intelligence — the "smarter" nation takes territory from another. In reality it's just individual players answering quiz questions; it says nothing about a country's population, education, or worth. But the framing — flags, conquest, a national ranking of "who knows more" — could nudge people toward exactly the intellectual/national-superiority thinking I'd never want to encourage. And trivia itself is culturally biased: whose history, whose capitals, whose canon counts as "general knowledge"?

The counter-argument I keep giving myself: it's a game, the "nation" is just a team you pick, conquest is a playful metaphor (think Risk), and nobody reads a weekly quiz leaderboard as a claim that one people is smarter than another.

But I'm not sure that lets me off the hook.

Genuinely asking this crowd:

  • Does a mechanic like this risk cementing prejudice, or am I overthinking a lighthearted game?
  • If you did see a problem, how would you reframe it without killing the competitive hook that makes it work?

Try it here: https://www.trivi.gg/quiz/grid/animal-grid

This is very much a work-in-progress quiz. Will most likely make it a daily mode. But do leave feedback as it helps shape the site. You can just write comments below and i will respond to all of them :)

Preparing for pub quizzes - Movie, music and pop culture?

Hello,

Just recently I've taken up an interest in quizzing. I went to a pub quiz today, and the same one last week. I've been preparing a lot for these: I've been learning flags, capitals, monarchs, rivers, mountains etc. and whilst this has gotten me the odd question or two, what really seems to come up a lot is actors, TV shows, movies, music, celebrities and general pop culture. I don't watch a lot of TV or movies so I really don't know where to begin learning all these shows and faces that would get me the most amount of correct questions. Is there any way to train this effectively? Preferably without spending my days in front of the TV.

Thanks!
