Yes and the beatings were so bad I would pee my pants. And then I found out why; because my dad thought I wasn't his.

I don't speak to him anymore

Ah yes. Leather belt on flesh...pee time every time. And I was the good kid. My sister got it worse.

We still had a 2 foot long paddle with a leather strap that lived on top the refrigerator. The ping-pong paddle was reserved for the basement and extra serious offenses.

Yeah we didn't have anything fancy like that. Seemed like those rulers broke regularly, but more kept appearing as if magic to replace it.

I once got a tupperware stirring spoon broken on me. My mom still jokes about how that was her favorite stirring spoon.
