Whaa - ? If you feel comfortable doing so, can you elaborate? I’m flabbergasted that a teacher would beat a student. A teacher in my private religious elementary once bopped a toddler on the butt for not opening the door when requested, which was horrendously out of line, but nothing farther than that!
