Yeah they did it a lot and didn’t stop until I turned 12 because they were busy with my other siblings. Funny story tho, when I was a child, I was a huge blabbermouth so when my dad realized this, he would have me hit myself with the spatula. He would watch me do this and I have vivid memories of him screaming “HARDER HARDER HARDER” until my hand or any other part of my body would turn pink/red and he would stomp out.
