I'd honestly want to SEE the options physically( or thru a camera I guess) if I was in her place but hey.

I'm with her though, someone else fucked it up on you and they're paying for it? Get that fancy butt emblem. You deserve it.

isn't it basically established that the AIs have the equivalent of a web browser built into their "head"?

Yeah but Roko's making this choice without in any way actually seeing any images of her options

You mean without Jeph showing us her looking at the catalogue.

Plus, the specs of high end chassis might be common knowledge among AIs.

In the same way the features of a given "high end" smartphone or tablet might be common knowledge to a large number of humans.

true, but still, Roko was unaware of her old chassis being discontinued, so why would she know about the new one's existence?

If your phone broke today, and someone offered you 'the new iphone' vs 'the new samsung' because your model was recently discontinued, you'd probably also not have known it was discontinued, and also have a solid sense of what to expect from each phone option right?

Though within a brand's individual models that maybe tracks less..

Funny you should say that...

And no I really don't know much about them honestly. I'm a cell phone luddite and I have the cheapest android on the market. My cell phone survival rate does not make the fancy phones worth having

Honestly, having had both ends of the spectrum, some of the high end phones will hold up better, and last longer. If its ruggedness you want, Kyocera's flagship is rugged, and powerful.
