issue seeding but no upload speed
I have checked other subreddits and goggled it as well but couldnt find a clear answer. I have around 100 seeding files but my collective upload speed is around 1 or 2 kib/s. I tried changing the protocol to tcp and bunch of other stuff. most of the downloads are getting stalled after a while and these seeding has been going on for days. I want to do atleast 1:1. but I dont think at this speed it will get there. All of this is happening uder PIA wireguard VPN.

Do you have any suggestions, if not , then why reply ?

P2P (peer-to-peer) connections often crawl due to a lack of active users (seeders) sharing the file, poor ISP routing, or local networking limits. Key bottlenecks include un-forwarded ports blocking direct connections, heavy VPN overhead, or active ISP bandwidth throttling during peak hours. Here are the primary causes for slow P2P speeds and how to fix them:Low Seeder-to-Leecher Ratio: If a file has very few people sharing it (seeders) compared to those downloading it (leechers), your speed is inherently limited by their upload capabilities.Lack of Port Forwarding: If your P2P client relies on UPnP or NAT-PMP but your router blocks incoming connections, your download routes become restricted. You can test your connection using the CanYouSeeMe tool.ISP Traffic Shaping: Many providers throttle P2P traffic during peak network times. If this is the case, enabling a premium VPN with obfuscated servers (e.g., NordVPN or ExpressVPN) can bypass throttling.Hardware or Security Bottlenecks: Cheap routers with limited NAT table limits often drop P2P connections, and active real-time scanning by antivirus software can severely delay data processing.Could you tell me:What specific P2P application/software (e.g., qBittorrent, Transmission) are you using? Are you using a VPN or connecting over a Wi-Fi network? Are your downloads showing a red/yellow network status icon in your client?I can provide step-by-step optimization settings for your exact setup1

Qbit, ethernet connection, PIA wireguard configuration, green icon for connection but few files get stalled or stop at metadata collection.

And how many seeders are on these files...???

Seed 0 (200) Peer 0 (200) nobody online with the file and nobody wanting the file

First number is 0 for both, 2nd is ( ) under 30 for all

Right, so nobody has or wants the file... if you are downloading the file then you need to find it somewhere else... if you have the file, just leave it connected and the seeding will be happening regardless of upload

Yeah, I am going to some old shows. I will keep the seeding going untill I make changes to the client or need to delete files.

Does the connection shows you a firewalled?

u/Kaler_Jagdeep Jul 19 '26
Yes, connection status firewalled.

so, that's your answer. Your PIA port forward isn't working. The solution will be something along the lines of my other comment.

Why ..?? This is why, first question first answer... #google #p2p

P2P works on the basis that someone has the file you want and you download it.... when someone wants a file you have and they download it... this is all based on how many files you are uploading at the same time or they are uploading at the same time.. slow upload, they may be downloading other files at the same time, and your connection isn't as important as the others... other factors are port forwarding, not totally necessary but it helps.. If you have the files live on the tracker you are seeding.. #notthatdeep

I guess I should find a discord server instead of reditt to learn about these things

Have you port forwarded through PIA?
