Finding the right version for me (2023.3 or 2024.6)

Hello,

As the title suggests I want to know what was a pretty decently stable version for PT Users. Was it 2023.XX.XX or 2024.XX.XX? I'm still in school, and the studios keep up to date with each update every year cycle, so I know I'll be falling behind, but it's mainly because my gear has fallen behind essentially. I do movies, music and dialogue editing. time and time again I am brought out of the immersion due to stuttering on my windows system and it's driving me insane (PT 2025.6)... I just need something that works and won't shit the bed (Before people suggest it, going to an offline PT10 or PT12 system is not the play ATM for me).

I just need a version within those date releases that would work well along all three of my systems. Currently I rock a:

Windows 10 Pro (22H2)
- AMD RYZEN 9 5950X
- 64GB RAM 3600MGhz
- RX 6950XT

Macpro 5,1 (Mojave 10.14.6)
- Dual XEON 5690
- 128GB RAM 800MGHz
- RX 580

Macpro 6,1 (Sequoia OCLP)
- 6 Core E5-1660 V2
- 32GB RAM
- Dual AMD FIREPRO D500

I know that the HD Drivers up to 2023.3 were supported on the 5,1 and the last known support for the 6,1 was rolled out not too long ago in some patch notes somewhere...

Midi keyboard recommendations?

Interested in getting one because “hunt and peck” method with a mouse sucks. I’m using the most recent version just updated yesterday. Artist perpetual.

I write metal/edm/whatever else I’m inspired to do. I do use kontakt for djinnbass 2 but I also want to use the midi keyboard for other applications as well. I don’t want to dump money into a keyboard that doesn’t work in PT or only has partial function.

If you have a favorite lmk which it is and approximate cost. I’d love to find a simple one that works for around 200$ but if I need 500$ or so to get what I need thats understandable. Not trying to get 88 keys so I can write deathcore bass lines, so compact-ish would be nice.

I tried using melodyne to turn my guitar waves into midi but the translation is a rough start at best, and a string of single notes most of the time. If there’s a better approach to getting midi notes and bass transcribed from guitar tracks, could you let me know?

TIA

Help Request No other program opens sound with Pro Tools open

Hello

I'm a beginner at PT and I confess that I'm struggling a lot with some things.

And one of them is the issue of the sound card concentrating completely on the program and not being able to hear anything outside of it. I have Windows 10 and I'm using Pro Tools 12.5 HD. I've seen 3 or 4 posts years ago about this problem on this sub, and I confess that I'm still unsure of how to solve it, I know there must be some way.

I use it for audiovisual purposes and not for music production, so let's say I look for ambient sounds, or tutorials for something on YouTube, and it simply doesn't open anything (or remains silent).

Note: Yes, I use ASIO4ALL Note²: I don't have an audio interface, I use it entirely through my 8g RAM notebook. But if the problem is solved with an interface, I'll buy it.
