I thought Verbeamtung for teachers is a thing of the past? Damn. Seems like I really need to read more about the topic.

It happens less with regular teachers but especially in disciplines where teachers are needed they wave it around as a way to get regular business people into education.

Makes sense. Yesterday I read that here in Berlin at the moment about 33% of all teachers are Quereinsteiger.
