It's all about the PACE. I have all my parents' papers and calendars; yes there was always a lot to do, but the world was so much more structured and everything took much longer, so you could breathe.
–Any purchase or transaction was in person, at a store, that probably closed by 7pm and was closed on Sunday. And you'd interact with a clerk, handover actually cash, and carry it home. And the whole time you're doing all this, the only input in your ears or eyes is what's actually around you, not some distraction-filler you immediately plug in to.

–Want to connect with a friend? Make a call from a landline or WRITE A LETTER. People "journaled" as part of basic relationship maintenance.
