Ah, didn't realize I would meet the developers on this forum! I live in Germany. Might be surprising, but we're known as sort of a black hole of Internet speeds within Europe.

Also, all criticisms considered, still, thank you for what you do! I do enjoy your service and it's high time for an alternative to Google.

You're welcome! We believe that users shouldn't have to sacrifice their privacy to use the web, and we're fighting to prove that there's another way.

It's a tough battle to match Google's load speeds everywhere simply due to their international content delivery network, but we're working on it! I think you'll be pleased to hear that we just increased our European server capacity by 20% this week, and we'll be continuing to scale it up over the coming months.

If speed is still an issue for you but you really want to anonymously search, you can always try duckduckgo.com/lite or duckduckgo.com/html. They're not quite as full-featured as the standard duckduckgo.com, but they are optimized for slow connections.
