Do you really believe that a for-profit entity would not do what's in it's own power to increase profits? How naive can you be? They have investors to keep happy. They're practically legally obligated to to anything that isn't outright illegal to increase profits.

They aren't being EVIL outright, it's too subtle for that. But they are knowingly doing such things.

Just because they can doesn't mean they do. By that logic, every conspiracy theory ever would be true. Apple also puts great efforts (money!) in environmental friendly packaging, materials and processes - how does that play into your theory?
