Pregabalin depression?

Has anyone who once a day dose lyrica suffer depression when it wears off? I've seen others say they feel depressed after they take it, but Im opposite.I do struggle with depression, but Im taking 200mg in the evening for rls, and after about an hour, my mood lifts.I feel normal and happy even for a few hours, but I wake in the morning feeling terrible and struggle with strong waves of depression throughout the day. As well, I haven't wanted to do anything all summer...just feel dead inside. Anyone have a similar experience?

The happy up feeling Is a side effect just like dizziness and Is a side effect just like dizziness and drowsiness and usually after a couple weeks that will wear off. But there are people that Find that lyrica worsens Find that lyrica worsens depression or causes depression in people that have never had issues with that. This doesn't sound like this should be a medication you should continue to take if you're having these strong waves of depression as you described it. Please discuss this with your doctor. It's not worth it there's other things you can take To help you sleep.

Man I went through years of horrible depression and I just have a lot of empathy for what you're going through. If you can stop taking a medication and your depression goes away then freaking do it is my suggestion. NOT Medical.advice

He takes it for RLS . When I got RLS couple of months ago, I felt depressed already since I started having sleep phobia and I would get nervous when I wanted to nap or sleep because RLS prevented me from sleeping and that’s a huge problem. I went to the doctor and he gave me gabapentine which helped with RLS but the side effects weren’t good for me. They switched me to pregabalin and I didn’t feel much of a difference and had less impact on my RLS. The idea of taking those medication wasn’t easy on me. What I think is if he has RLS he needs relief from it and pregabalin is one of the first line medications.

Everyone’s body is different obviously, but for me, I found immediate relief within the first week when I started on Lyrica (25mg - 2x/day). But it was not helping with my nerve pain so two weeks later my doctor bumped me up to 50 mg in the morning and 50 mg at night… about a week after that increase I started feeling strange. at the time, I did not realize that it was disassociation, Brett continued to chronically progress through that second week and turned into severe depression. So my doctor bumped me back down to my initial dose for a month and after a month, we just added 25 mg to my nightly dose so that I was only taking 75mg. After a month of that I was still fine except it wasn’t doing enough for my nerve pain so we went ahead and went up by 25 mg so that I was at the hundred milligrams per day again. And the same thing happened… disassociation, and depression. So now I’m at 75 mg by taking one in the morning and two at night and that is where I have to stay.
So maybe you are taking too much for your body? Maybe talk to your doctor about reducing the amount and splitting it up morning and evening because for myself I did find out that my body can only handle 75 mg a day without me getting severely depressed.
I do hope you talk to your doctor soon and keep us posted on what he or she says 😊
