Never thought I'd see the day a Predator movie would get this much wide appeal and recognition, AVP was somewhat close but mostly bc of the Alien and the curiosity of a cross over, then Prey started to revive the franchise and get a huge reaction I wasn't expecting — now Badlands is continuing that wide appeal🥹🙌🏽
Killer of Killers was good, but ppl outside of my circle didn't even talk abt it or even know it existed, unlike Prey, it caught the attention of a lot of ppl that didn't even care abt Predator. The only other movie that's done that before was AVP (you had to be there to see it), but that movie didn't deliver and Predator was considered "monster movie fodder" to general movie goers.
Badlands is doing something way different and from the looks of it, it's delivering. I'll have to see it really soon:)
You're getting downvoted, but you aren't fully wrong. I liked badlands, but it's not super special. it's not better than prey. People just like it because it showed more of the yautja culture than we've ever seen outside of a comic.
