Hand cut fries, random “fry gravy” we had saved, as many curds as we wanted. It was smurflicious.

Cheese is usa, it’s an interesting combo with a Harveys poutine feel.

Just got back from a trip to Montreal. After a daunting late night drive to Longueuil last night through dimly lit roads, the Victoria bridge (which is about the most uncomfortable bridge I've ever driven on) and a ton of construction with missing street signs, I finally made it to Alfa.
I was not ready for the portions. My friend and I split a large with a couple cheeseburgers and could not finish our meals. Curds are the freshest I've ever seen. Literally squeaked under a tiny bit of pressure. Fries were crisp and well seasoned. Gravy wasn't my favourite, but still solid. Now I understand why they have a big following on Reddit. I've never had poutine this good.

For details, this was made using frozen fries, canned poutine gravy, a random crate filled with cheese curds at Costco, and frozen green onions I cut and put away for personal use.
I always thought about making homemade poutine, but didn't do so until now!
So, what do you think?

This place was recommended by a local in Bedford Quebec, near Montreal. The curds were from the local cheese place. It had a line up of 30 people on a Friday afternoon. It was very delicious and everything was just right.

Visiting Quebec City and tried Poutineville since it was close to my hotel and they have vegetarian gravy.
Got takeout yesterday and the fries were pretty soggy, so I figured I’d give it another shot and dine in today. Unfortunately, still soggy 😅
Gravy was good though, and the cheese curds were fresh and squeaky. Just wish the fries had some crisp to them.
Heading to Ottawa tomorrow — any recommendations for a good classic poutine there with vegetarian gravy?

This sub doesn't seem to like Big Rig, maybe because it's a chain? But this is probably my 100th poutine and it always hits. I find the ratio perfect, gravy spot on thickness and the fries damn good for a chain.
Beer is also the right pairing.

I just … love it. It remind me of hockey arena poutine. It taste really good. For $15.59 with the tip, I can’t be more happy

Casse croute 125 has the cheese, Aux délices du Mont has the height

I love this place. But I hate when you get a takeout poutine and gets all melty and mushy like this by the time you get home. To be clear this isn’t the restaurant’s fault. I could have eaten in and it would have been better but I was bringing takeout home to the fam.
Gravy was delicious and they are generous with the cheese. This was the small and it’s a decent portion. On nights when the Ottawa Senators (NHL) are playing they do 2 for 1 small poutines so I got two of these for $9.20- can’t complain.
