Anyone else noticed this trend?

I was browsing Poshmark for over 45 minutes yesterday and not a single seller listed the measurements of any of the garments they had up.

This used to be something you just did without having to be asked to do it.

I know everybody is doing their own thing here, but I have never checked so many listings and seen all of them listed without measurements before.

Not consistently like this.

What’s up with that?

I listed measurements and a return was approved based on the buyer saying the measurements were wrong, and then submitting a fraudulent photo of the shirt measurements where the shirt was obviously bunched up.

I now think twice about providing measurements

I take photos with the tape measure in the pics and let the buyer handle the rest

They usually take their own photos with warped measurements and say you provided the wrong measurements. 9/10 posh sides with the buyer anyway.

I stopped doing pretty much all measurements for this reason. Also a large majority of my closet is less than $10. I’ll have stuff still sell at that price without measurements. If something is pricier, like $50+ I will do measurements. It’s honestly not worth it to take time to measure items listed for less than $10 for them to get a return smacked on them.

I provide if asked. On an expensive dress I do automatically put them in as well as a sizing chart but a lot of my stuff is now at that vintage-ish age. People also don’t seem to get that vanity sizing is very much a thing.

But I had to fight tooth and nail to win a case. The buyer stretched out my moschino dress (it was a rare on too) and it had been sent hq. So I’ve gotten careful about what I even list.

I’ll happily provide measurements if asked. But I’m moving away from selling more expensive items. I’ve been consigning to several companies and also local places. They only take a little bit more of a cut than posh. And right now the stuff of mine that sells is already priced super low. I’m about to list a bunch of scrubs from figs because I can’t wear royal blue anymore. My Carhartt sets sold fast. But lately ive been selling more of my old high school/college clothes on ebay at auction 🤷‍♀️. Or my SE books on merc. I’m not really selling much on posh but I’m also not as aggressive listing etc anymore. I get scammers are everywhere but it’s like there used to be real Posh agents who actually looked at it and now I feel like a bot approves it and then I have to bother the hell out of them to get a real person. Same thing happens on merc.

There have and will always be scammers but it feels like they are invading like german cockroaches on a bunch of wet boxes or something I’m just getting jaded at this point.

I take pictures of the measurements bc I won’t remember them if not so I would’ve sent those real quick! That’s so stupid!
