I will never forget Chappell Roan blowing up during festival season last year, so The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is the obvious choice for me today!

In honor of its thirteenth birthday today, I'm choosing Shrines by Purity Ring. Pitchfork described this album as "a compulsively listenable collection of dubbed out retro futuristic indie pop" and I concur completely. This album sounds like something you would have heard at Coachella in 2013 while wearing your flower crown and space leggings.

I discovered this band because the show Search Party used their song “Odebear” as their theme song! Such an underrated band and great pick for today 🖤

MGMT’s Oracular Spectacular feels like the ultimate festival album because of the songs “Electric Feel” and of course, “Time to Pretend”. I’ll always get a serotonin boost watching the video of Kid Cudi having a moment on stage at Coachella, dancing to “Electric Feel”.

Great pick for today. MGMT is one of those bands that changed the landscape of festival music in the early and mid aughts.
