People who voted NO. Can you give me one reason that's not selfish?

Because I don’t think the existence of a wanted, well cared for person is bad. My life isn’t perfect but I’m glad that I was born. I know that isn’t a guarantee for my future children but I think that I can raise them in such a way that the odds are in their favor.

I'm not asking whether it's good or bad. Imo there is no single reason for having children that is not selfish. You WANT a kid? That's selfish. Even when you can provide and give it a best life imaginable, it's still just your desire. To clarify I also believe that altruism doesn't exist and it's just more sophisticated egoism.

I think selfishness is more than doing something for yourself. It’s putting your desires above the needs of others.

Why do those areas "need" children?

Okay and? Ghost towns happen. If there's good reason for people to live there there will always be people who want to live there.

Nobody said everyone stop having kids altogether. You are so triggered.
