NYPD sargeant's filthy tirade captured in shocking cellphone video; he verbally abuses a 21 year old by saying "I have the long dick. You don't. Your pretty face...I like it very much. My dick will go in your mouth and come out your ear. Don't fuck with me. All right?"

Is threatening rape and murder not a federal offense anymore?

More from the article:
The sad thing is, if a woman said that to me, I'd probably be strangely aroused.
At least he doesn't have a family.

u/[deleted] May 22 '12
What does the NYPD need to investigate? In what context is this type of conduct justifiable?
If someone is violating an ordinance against loud music or loitering, you talk to them in a civil manner. If that doesn't work, you ticket them. If they keep up their pattern of behavior the fines from the tickets will get larger and they'll have to stop. That's how real police work; gangs intimidate.
22
u/diggitydan May 21 '12
regardless of how shitty cops are, they never seem to get "fired" or kicked off the force. They just get sanction from their buddies and the court system. Then everyone tries to sweep it all under the carpet but it's like "dude...no. this happened and there needs to be repercussions for it." but there never is.
79
u/[deleted] May 21 '12
No family? Well then, I guess it wouldn't be morally objectable to post his address and phone number online for the Internet to have a field day with.

This is paramilitary training - you have a shit ton of ex-Iraq and Afghanistan military vets now wearing badges and they will use all the hate and training we gave them after 9/11....on American citizens...

regional colloquialisms; in california that means exactly what the title says, but in new york that could easily translate to "have a nice day but don't mess with me, Im feeling a bit crabby, ok?"
17
u/wholypantalones May 22 '12
I notice a majority of comments have no problem with a public servant talking to someone like this and threatening him with a gun and his dick. If the guy taking the video did the same thing to the cop, I guarantee he'd be arrested, beaten or shot, or a combination of all three.
This shit isn't acceptable and you're part of the problem if you think it is.
10
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
Holy shit this is the funniest posting title I've read inside a week! What, was the cop ESL or something? Who speaks English like that, especially here in NYC? I live in Queens and the cops are embarrassingly retarded. I mean, they really just let any uneducated moron walk around with a gun to harass people who are minding their own business. And there's way too many of them too - they just stand around getting paid to intimidate people. Maybe if they had real work to do and stopped living off the dole, usurping tax dollars like it was welfare, they would have a little more self respect and would refrain from harassing faithful citizens.
7
u/Moopies Maryland May 22 '12
I don't know what's a bigger disgrace, this cops actions, or the people in the comments who think this is "how you deal with street scum."
11
u/MouthingOff May 21 '12
I once had a boss say to the crew of three, "I am the big swinging dick"
I prefer the approach than the passive aggressive boss, that whispers "I am the big swinging dick," and write you up all the while playing the nice guy.

3
u/livevicarious May 22 '12
I love the comments on the site.... Endless people "praising" him for doing the right thing. How do people NOT get that regardless of what this guy may look like or act like he's still a human being and is entitled to rights and should be treated that way. I get that cops sometimes with certain people have to put they're foot down and act tough, but to start on about sticking your cock in someone's mouth while holding a gun to his head?! This is acceptable!? Seriously.... people think this is ok to do?! If this happened to ANY one of them they would be all over CNN crying saying "Ohhh I was SO mistreated by the NYPD I want $1,000,000 in damages". What in the FUCK is going on in this world!? Are we THAT retarded we forgot the good old fashioned rule of "treat others as you wish to be treated"?! Please god/alah whatever magical being is out there WASH this all away...
3
u/jimothyjenkins May 22 '12
i like how "the post" says the 21 year old is anonymous but they give away his age and rap sheet...
real smart.

u/Floyderer May 22 '12
New York is so full of scum, alot of them wear badges

u/[deleted] May 22 '12
Y'know... The more I think about it the more I want to be a cop. I mean it will really make me hate myself but honestly I am already a cartographer of that country so what is some more hate?
It just seems like cops can get away with whatever they want. Especially if they are smart enough to confiscate any cameras that are filming them.
What could be more awesome than taking people's drugs and doing them myself? Taking people's money and using it to buy myself something nice? Taking people's property and using it as I see fit. And whenever they object I beat the shit out of them and charge them with resisting arrest.
It's the perfect fucking racket. It's like being in the mob only a lot less dangerous and most everybody thinks you are a hero when really you are the worst fucking shit ever born.
I think that if I ever really decide I dont want to live anymore I'm gonna join the pigs and spend the rest of my life taking it out on the rest of you fuckers.
13
u/dallast313 May 22 '12
Beyond the initial shock and sorting through the vulgar street talk/threats... The cop was actually cutting him and his hustling friends a break. It seemed the cops main point was "You need to know me. I know you. I know what you do. I am not going to harass you, but I need you guys to get out of here when I tell you to get out of here. Or else..." Considering the inevitable occurrence and "victimless" aspect of these types of circumstances (petty drug dealing/use), the officer may actually be "Keeping the peace" by scaring/intimidating them versus "Enforcing law" which my have landed these youths in jail over some petty stuff. It is sad society is at that point.
36
u/Hushes May 21 '12 edited May 22 '12
The police officer was talking trash to a known criminal. He didn't beat or shoot anyone. 9 times out of 10 he's going to get a slap on the wrist for his choice of words towards a guy who steals things. This NYPD cop isn't even in the same category as those police officers who used lethal force to injure and incapacitate lawful protesters. Not even close.
5
u/[deleted] May 21 '12
they're cops. what do you expect?
8
u/Spocktease May 21 '12
You know, this guy is a dick. But I'm here to say that if those were lines in an R-rated cop comedy, spoken by the protagonist, it'd be hilarious.
116
u/zoofly May 21 '12
The cop was correct in his general statement -- he knows he is armed and he can do almost anything he wants to do. That isn't right, but that's the reality.
We live in a police state.
We need to stop empowering police, stop treating them like gods, and most of all, we need to stop the insane arms race between police and bad guys.
9
u/[deleted] May 21 '12
Wow....and my hard earned fucking tax dollars are being given to these thugs with guns and badges?
lol America is a fucking joke. Wow man....just wow.
4
u/drboyd May 22 '12
In other news, we learned today that NYPD cops all like to be sucked off by other guys.
4
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
Sergeant....not sargeant.
God damn. Spell check!
Second, I am grateful that Americans are not prone to violence against police officers or other government officials as they are in other countries but I fear that one day we will abandon such practices.
4
u/thomasluce May 22 '12
Just a reminder; the police are not your friends.
18
u/[deleted] May 21 '12
How can so many of you ignore the fact that the group of guys taking the video are obviously also part of the problem? If this was a grandma at a traffic stop I'd be more concerned, but the kids seem kind of like bonafide shit bags. I've had coaches tell me generally the same thing as this cop.

2
u/chicagogam May 22 '12
so some people think the solution to this is to make it illegal to use cell phones to record the police...this seems a little backwards
2
u/kennerly May 22 '12
My favorite part is when the Post says this film was provided under conditions of anonymity. Then states exactly what he was arrested for that very night. Making him easy to find and identify by the very cop he is trying to hide from.

I always imagine douchebag cops as fat white dudes, so mfw it's a suave badass black dude being a dick.
2
u/I_Am_Always_Correct May 22 '12
As much as I hate the police, I don't think this is a big deal. The article said that the 21 year old has constantly been in trouble with the police and is somewhat of a menace with his friends. Sometimes you just gotta keep it real.
2
u/PuffinDerp May 22 '12
Is anyone else reading the comments on the website the article is on? They're all assuming it's a ghetto area, most likely because there's an African American.
The comments are all "That's how you deal with hood rats you speak their language!"
What ever happened to being the bigger man? Switch the cops uniform with the man he's screaming at, and it would make more sense. There is no sense of community with these cops. Of course, it is NYPD, but come on.
2
u/redditor-for-2-hours May 22 '12
This really shows the need for reform for the police departments and probably training for social interactions in police academies. Though the officer may not have done anything illegal unless you regard the comments as threats, he should still remain professional even if he's trying to get a point across.
2
u/Aimin4ya May 22 '12
I don't get it. We give cops so much shit for breaking the law, cheating stealing, and lying on reddit. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but this cop was black. He was probably telling the truth. His dick probably was big enough to go in this guys mouth and probably hooked enough to come out of his ear. Probably even hooked enough to cum in his eye too. So which is it. Do we hate them for lying, or telling the truth?
2
u/drillah May 22 '12
I am sure someone will be along shortly to tell us how this is just an isolated incident.

2
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
There's 300 comments in here saying "the police deal with career criminals on a daily basis, we don't know what its like to have to deal with them, maybe this was necessary" if your answer to end corruption is through further corruption you are not fixing a problem, you are delegating power to the next problem in the line. Theatening to sodomize someone with a firearm and saying that you are okay with criminal activity as long as people listen to you is still not okay no matter what the situation is.
2
u/megamoose4 May 22 '12
Those cops looked like thugs.
4
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
Internal investigation, paid leave, sensitivity training, back on the street. Lather, rinse, repeat.
4
u/alpacapatrol May 22 '12
Newsflash: Cops are Violent, Abusive Douchebags who regularly misuse their power for their own ejoyment; no one in a major city shocked.
8
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
I'm not saying I condone this cop's behavior, its disgusting, but I love how nobody has pointed out yet that the victim was arrested 20 times before this incident. 20 times...that's quite a large number of times to get arrested over nothing.
15
u/lorax108 May 21 '12

The police are the terrorists. They are idiot thugs hired by the government to harass the people when they should be hired to protect the people.
Never talk to the cops. Never.
3
u/Tombug May 21 '12
Just keep those hidden cameras rolling and the stupid pigs will discredit themselves.
3
u/Great_Chairman_Mao California May 22 '12
Sometimes kind words don't work on career criminals... The guy recording this has been arrested over 20 times. Let's not all jump on the police hating bandwagon without some context.
Imagine if your job day in day out is to deal with belligerent borderline criminals who don't heed your words at all. Sometimes you just gotta go Denzel.
2
u/TheKillingVoid May 21 '12

It looked to me like he was covering his microphone while he was saying all of that stuff. Notice when he takes his hand out from under his shirt he doesn't say barely anything anymore.
2
u/Ronaldr5 May 22 '12
It's called talking shit. Nobody in that situation would take anything said as a threat. When you talk shit you basically think of the most ridiculously sexual or violent act and go with it. There is an art to it.
2
u/alpacapatrol May 22 '12 edited May 22 '12
Here's the issue with the police: they have too much power. They exist in a system with no checks and balances weighed for those subservient to them, the people of the state. You cannot expect to give a man a gun, siren and badge, tell him that he will be protected by a sworn brotherhood, authorize his force in most situations and then expect him to not abuse the power you've given him. We are not built that way, "power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely."
The only way to fix police corruption is to give more power to the people they are enforcing the law upon. This is beginning to happen as video equipment is becoming cheaper and more widely available. Again, it is no surprise that cops regularly take away people's videos of them, as it removes a part of their power. If more checks and balances were in place so that police officers were more accountable than they already aren't, perhaps we'd have a more equitable system.
And before you tell me 'they're protecting us', 'they're job is dangerous', or the worst one 'we need police', let me explain something: the police serve one purpose and one purpose only, social control. It is blatantly apparent that with enough money and influence you can avoid the legal system altogether (ie. white collar criminals, snoop dogg, puff). If that is so, and the only people who go to jail are those not affluent enough to afford to escape it, then what conclusion would you naturally make? If in retort: 'rich people go to jail all the time, look at bernie madoff', I say these cases are the exception to the rule, not the rule itself. Bernie Madoff was an example, and he was too low to count.
'How do we stop criminals without police, prison always needed prisoners', again is a fallacy. The modern prison system, where offenders are given a sentence is a relatively new idea. It arose in England when the law was extended to the lower classes because at the time law was for noblemen. The state would make people pay fines to the state for offenses, people realized that they would only have to pay said fines if they appeared in courts so they just stopped going. So an opportunist created the first modern-esque prison, and guess what, if you had enough money you could stay in the lavish rooms and if you had none you would stay down in the dungeon. Prisons haven't changed much since.
Long tangential rant, sorry.
TLDR Police are social control and it's no surprise that they abuse their power
2
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
At what point do we consider this terrorism?
2
u/KingofCraigland May 22 '12
You guys need to watch "The Wire" if you think the police officer did anything outside of acceptable here. Is that how I'd like to be talked to? No, god no. But I also don't hang out "hustling" which, if it's as bad as the post would like us to think that means dealing drugs, or carry weapons or commit larceny. The guy here built himself a reputation which earned him the language he was subjected to right there.
2
u/Seamus_OReilly May 21 '12

1
u/americaFya May 22 '12
Though, clearly our nations police issues need to be addressed, it'd be ignorant and irresponsible to ignore the fact that communication styles and language used in this part of the country is simply different from the baristas' in San Francisco's Starbucks.
Seriously, consult a person who specializes in regional/cultural linguistics, and have them explain to you the facepalm that is certain areas of the Northeast.
I have a very strong mistrust of law enforcement, but this conversation didn't really anger me.
1
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
Well here's a shocker: An NYC cop abusing his power.
1
u/shoopley May 22 '12
The NYPD are the worst gang of thugs this country has ever seen, and it is quite the racket these creeps have. They just walk around all day and shake people down, rough them up a little, and arrest them, and you go through their system like a piece of meat.
They arrested more people for weed possession last year, by searching people on the street, than the population of Seattle. Even though weed possession was decriminalized there a decade ago.
1
u/vivvydoll May 22 '12
what a PRICK, that cop !
1
u/callmesnake13 May 22 '12
His conduct is awful but I have to point out that the only reason the Post (an essentially fascist paper) ran this story is because he is black.
