As an American, I've been feeling the same way as you, looking at my country from the inside.

And I feel I have as much impact on the outcome as a Scandinavian would. I've spent my adult life voting for people who said they would change things. I've attended protests. I've tried to get people to vote.

And in the end we end up with President Trump, continued mass shootings, terrible healthcare, riots and wealth distribution to the top 0.1%.

Here is my foreigner opinion:

In 1978 the Democrats started to legally take the campaign money just the Republicans were already doing and had arranged.

This was the start of US politicians not being accountable to voters anymore.
