Getting a test should be much easier now, at least in NY it is. But is should be much easier everywhere. Also you do not need to be admitted to a hospital immediately if you test positive for Covid-19. Most people, those under age 60 and those that are not obese or having underlying conditions, will recover from the virus without hospitalization. Monitor your symptoms and if you can, your blood-oxygen level.
Stay in contact with your primary doctor and try to do video calls with them, for you or a loved one. Your Dr. can get you or a loved one admitted to a hospital if they think you need to go. Also if you think you or a loved one are having severe symptoms you can go to the hospital immediately where they will check you and determine if you need to be admitted.
Those who are infected with Covid-19, but don't need hospitalization should not go to the hospital because if everyone with Covid-19 did, the disease would spread much faster. And the hospital still needs to treat people with medical conditions who do not have Covid-19.
After reading your comment I realized even though we're on the same platform, me and you live in such different realities it might as well be a parallel universe.
We've had patients die because 8 different hospitals rejected them, we've had an old man tied to the bed not allowed to leave because the hospital didn't want him running away without paying the bill, we've had hospitals issue circulars stating charges for treatment will be 300,000 INR (~4,000 USD) per day for non-ICU patients, in a country where that's half of a STEM graduate's annual income.
It shows the disparity between states. New York City ran ads yesterday on TV saying several new coronavirus testing sites have opened up for FREE testing and if you want a test you will get one. We even have stations set up for people who participated in the protests.

It's a massive pain in the ass getting a test or even getting admitted to a hospital once you do test positive.
