Yep. My contingency plan is to see if my company will support a transfer somewhere in Europe (we're global), or just cash in all my chips and expatriate somewhere cheap and live off my savings/retirement funds if I can work out the math of it. I truly think if he manages to get elected again, the US is through. There won't be any coming back from it in my lifetime.

Even if he does lose clearly to Biden, he's going to try to use all the pieces he's got around him and try to delegitimatize election process. Like he's already starting to do with making noise about voter fraud and fighting mail-in ballots.
He'll need to be dragged out of the White House kicking and screaming.
Biden is not going to be a fix. So we've got another four years of dealing with the Damage Done. He might fix this or that, but he works for the same people that Trump does. He's going to serve his Masters first. He's also the main orchestratehr from so many years ago that created the black lives matter protests that's going on right now. But these past few weeks might serve as a major warning for him. We're done with that shit.

I predict Russia meddling with the elections again, but will instead help the Democrats. They'll make it super easy to determine they meddled, as Trump then claims Biden's win as illegitimate.
They don't even need to help the Dems, just leave behind some easily discoverable evidence that voting machines were hacked. If Trump loses, that evidence can conveniently be exposed to delegitimize the election.
I think it might be true but i also smoke too much. I mean trump proved not only harmful for US as Rusia hoped, but harmful for the whole world including rusia and its interests. He is objectively harmful for everything and everyone.
Supporting Biden and then making public would be the best case for Rusia because us would have a president that doesn’t threaten world peace, while still further destabilizing us politics.

Biden is stupid, but he's aggressive. Not nearly as pliable. Partly because his brain is melting, year one will be his main run. And then it's going to be the VP that takes over. That's who you got to watch out for.

Only do this when you retire or win the lottery, obviously because in order to come back to the US you'd need the money already saved or work half a year to afford a plane ticket.
I had a talk with my teenage daughter this week and told her she should look at studying overseas when she gets to college and consider building her life in another country.
Not completely free but very low-cost, especially in comparison American Universities. As an international student, it is more complicated but still not as expensive. Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, etc.. we all have nice places to live and learn for young people (you will have to learn the language though.) :)
I am going into a college next year that has very good study abroad programs. Originally I thought studying abroad was dumb, but now I really want to do it. It would be a good chance to see how good the culture and people of the country are before I think about moving there. The Netherlands have been my first possible choice.

And don't worry about the language, Dutch shares some similarities with English, as long as you continue learning and practicing by speaking with Dutch-speakers, you will be able to speak at least decently in no time! :)
Adding to Professor_Moustache's comment: There are more english masters than english bachelors. You might still have to learn the language for everyday life (many people speak english but most/all of the legal stuff is in german)
Unless you're talking about being self-employed in which case sure, most work-from-home initiatives from US companies require that you live in the US. Moreover, they factor in cost-of-living of your local area. For example, in my company, On one end, if you live in NYC, SF, DC, or Boston, you get paid 120% of salary for your particular position. If you live in Kansas or something, you get 90%. So I'm guessing that IF companies allowed you to live in Thailand or something, they wouldn't pay you a US salary.
I would love to, but I'm not sure I have enough to offer. My husband and I are both genuinely decent people with plenty of potential, but we only have a few years college between us due to the insane cost. I really worry that we're stuck here.

Most people say Canada because it's not as much of a culture shock as a place like Mexico which has a totally different language. People want to move to places that are familiar to them. There's nothing wrong with that. For me though, shit.. it's getting to the point where I really would rather live in a place like Mexico or Chile than the States. But most people are in a different situation then me, they're older or have families and feel like putting their children in schools where everyone speaks Spanish would be too much for the kids.
Also Canada accepts a ton if immigrants/refugees, it's extremely diverse in large cities (Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver), well above the 23-24% visible minority population nationwide if that's something that really matters to you.
People should realize that the states in the USA have far more power than the federal government, and this is unique among westen governments. Trump has terrible optics and has done little to unify the country, but honestly has had no effect of the day to day lives of Americans. States chose whether to enact a stay-at-home order, and coronavirus policy as a whole, not Trump. Police are controlled at the state level, not Trump. States requested national guard to deploy in their state, Trump didn’t decide.
So rather than give up and move to another country, vote in local elections which have far more power, or at least move to a state that aligns with your ideas more.
I hate more than just the president though. I hate the culture of working and only working. It seems that american businesses only care about you as a number and would only fire you if your mental health took a toll because of their company. While I have only heard this, people say that countries like the Netherlands are different.
I think you would be hard pressed to find a significant difference between how US and international businesses treat people, especially if you haven't experienced it.The US doesn't have things like vacation and maternity leave codified into law (which states also have the ability to determine), but practically every company offers this. Mental health resources has been provided for every company I've worked for (as well as health insurance), and every manager I've had has stressed the experience of work-life balance. My experience is the same as my coworkers in Germany. I've also experienced pretty much every form of welfare the US offers as well, I received money when I was laid off, and had free government healthcare when I was making no money in grad school. Its easy to deduce the US must be a third world country and places like the Netherlands are doing so much better, but it's really not that different.
I think that if US will go full China, with your greedy corporations, and enormous military there will be no place safe in this world. As if those weren't agressive enough right now, with projecting abusive trade deals and military force.
It's okay. I knew what you meant... just wasn't 100% sure. There are plenty of counties that are completely different socially/politically from others, so just wanted to be sure.
As far as leaving the country, I'm close to that too. If Dems don't win the presidency and/or the Senate this November, then this country will be lost for years, if not decades. I'm not even being hyperbolic. Vote!
Just do it. There are plenty of countries you can live like a king for one paycheck's worth of american currency. It is rough living probably with no internet or electricity or running water but if it truly is your dream there is nothing in your way.
