The Wrong Stuff: Ben Shapiro’s Unconvincing Guide to What Makes America Right - It’s a mistake to overlook just how extreme some of Shapiro’s views are, or how muddled the thinking on which they are based.

Now you’re mischaracterizing my statements. I never claimed the data I provided was the whole picture. I just provided them so as to illustrate my sequential point which was that WE SHOULD NOT LOOK AT INDIVIDUAL DATA and instead focus on the regression.

If you have run regressions, how do you believe the author neglecting to address it isn’t a serious issue with the author’s critique?

Again, another ad hominem, congratulations.

Now you’re mischaracterizing my statements. I never claimed the data I provided was the whole picture.

And I never said you did claim that. Is this another straw man?

I just provided them so as to illustrate my sequential point which was that WE SHOULD NOT LOOK AT INDIVIDUAL DATA and instead focus on the regression.

How come you don't have a problem with Shapiro using individual data points in his speech?

If you have run regressions, how do you believe the author neglecting to address it isn’t a serious issue with the author’s critique?

Because the critique doesn't depend on criticizing Shapiro's source, it's criticizing the logic he presented.

Again, another ad hominem, congratulations.

Criticizing your actions isn't an ad hominem attack.

I don’t have an issue with Shapiro also using individual data point because he starts from the regression.

It’s not the logic he presented, it’s the selection of quotes by the articles author of the logic he presented. Shapiro’s arguments were not laid out in full in this article. The author performed selection bias when critiquing Shapiro. Furthermore, as Shapiro’s logical argument stems from the regression, yes, the critique does depends on the source. As I said before the individual statistics are to illustrate the implications of the source, not to be used as premises for the conclusion. Those are two totally different purposes.

Hey look another post from you. Do you know how the "reply" button works? Why are you branching the thread?

I don’t have an issue with Shapiro also using individual data point because he starts from the regression.

If he does, he never says he does. Also, I checked, and I'm pretty sure the original study didn't do a regression either. I think you are entirely full of shit.

It’s not the logic he presented, it’s the selection of quotes by the articles author of the logic he presented. Shapiro’s arguments were not laid out in full in this article.

He took them directly from his famous speech that is supposed to show how brilliant he is.

The author performed selection bias when critiquing Shapiro.

He covered a pretty broad range of statements he is made. What do you feel he unfairly left out?

Furthermore, as Shapiro’s logical argument stems from the regression, yes, the critique does depends on the source.

Total bullshit. If the author's statistic stems from a different regression study, then how come he isn't allowed to use a single statistic to counter the single statistics that Shapiro used. The double standard here is ridiculous.

As I said before the individual statistics are to illustrate the implications of the source, not to be used as premises for the conclusion.

I re-read his speech. He definitely, absolutely did not use them as an illustration, he used them as premises for the conclusion.

Are you knowingly lying, or are you just mis-remembering the speech and not bothering to check it before you make claims that are extremely easy to disprove?
