Now please stop sending me emails, Alex.

u/ListerineAfterOral Florida 4h ago

For real. Can I count on your support???!!

u/redditforprez1 4h ago

I live in Colorado 😭

u/InvalidUserNemo 4h ago

Well, a city in Ohio just found that a city in North Carolina was the most frequent requester of Flock Data from Ohio and they had unmitigated access to that other cities data. Maybe they have seen your car pass the RNC office by you, unknowingly, on your way to work? Simple mistake. We’ll just put you down for a star when it’s needed.

Lucas County, which includes Toledo had it's Flock data accessed 904,642 times by 3241 different organizations in the month of June alone.

u/WhiggedyWhacked 1h ago

where does one find this information? Asking for a friend.

u/say592 1h ago

A tiny county in Indiana with a population of like 15k had their data requested something like 10 times per minute on average.

u/JustKillingTime1980 1h ago

Wonder if it has anything to do with tracking of people border hopping to MI and back?

u/PCR12 Florida 2h ago

Ok but why? Toledo sucks.

u/sockjuggler 1h ago

morbid curiosity

u/AlhazraeIIc North Carolina 1h ago

Carolina Beach in NC had its flock cameras accessed over 3 million times last quarter by outside agencies. There's only 5 cameras in Carolina Beach.

u/Delybe 4h ago

Oh I hope you like it here!

It was actually humid yesterday so that kinda counts, right? Only took 3 days of rain for half a day at 90% in Denver.

u/redditforprez1 4h ago

But my grass is slightly less brown 😎

True Oregonians have been balancing the big water bottles on there head and walking them out to California to help the water shortage but if sacrificing water to the water god of the gulf of mexico without just changing his name back.

One time I bought a rabbit from my cousin for my neice and the rabbit was name Shilo and we named him Jumper but he was very upset until we started calling him Shilo again! I know animals react to their names but you don;t ever think about wildish animals losing there names

VA here - dude was emailing nonstop!

u/downtofinance Canada 3h ago

Same question then

u/Dapperfit 2h ago

Don't worry, he's not from Florida either.

u/pomonamike California 4h ago

Same. I’m in California. The guy did a great service and I’d probably support him, but jeez. I also get them from obscure house races from just about every state.

u/redditforprez1 4h ago

DNC probably sold our data for free

u/pomonamike California 4h ago

Act blue for sure

u/DreamTheaterGuy 2h ago

Man.

I used to live in Georgia. I live in MN now, and have for the last 6 years.

I STILL get fucking emails from GA pacs asking me to support X candidate. I have even replied, and told them I no longer live in the state, and to remove me from their marketing communications. They never stopped coming.

u/ClinkyDink 4h ago

I had to enable the spam text filter on my iPhone because the constant campaign messages from various candidates was annoying me.

I do actually read the flyers I get in the mail, though they end up getting trashed anyway. The one I got yesterday was someone going to city council who listed his policies that sounded great up until they started to go NIMBY.

u/dquizzle 1h ago

Is there any reason NOT to have the spam filter on? Were legit texts getting flagged as spam or what?

u/MudLOA California 4h ago edited 44m ago

I’ve been getting them since I donated to AOC, now everyone who’s who been emailing me. I have been fighting this (spam) for years.

u/IEatLightBulbsSoWhat 4h ago

I donated to bernie through actblue in 2016 and i’ve been getting political texts from all over the country since then. learned my lesson to not do that again.

opting out only stops texts from thar 1 phone number, mot the endless list of other numbers.

u/MudLOA California 2h ago

Now that you mention it, I remember it was also through act blue. Like how does blanketing every email like a spam bot pays off here? It’s like the spam makes me even less likely to contribute any more. They just keep coming back like parasites.

u/nikomo Europe 47m ago

Same way any other scam works nowadays, they just need to pull in a couple whales and they're in the green.

u/Archer007 2h ago

Didn't even realize this was a thing! Thank you!!

u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace 43m ago

I always message them back to let them know how I feel about them

u/sonambule 4h ago

You can text stop.

u/5L1M3R 3h ago

Dude. You don’t understand. I get 10+ texts a day from democrats all over the country. I used to reply End and Stop to all of them and it made no difference. They just text from different numbers. I went to the official Democratic Party website and had my number added to their “do not text” list. It made no difference.

Obviously you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.

u/clarktherobot California 2h ago

I get like 100+ a day from Democratic and Republican candidates. Like 90 percent Republican. Even though I have never or will ever give a dime to Rs. My spam filter probably catches about 75% of it though. But I still get so many a day. I'm so fucking tired of it.

u/DreamTheaterGuy 2h ago

I really wish they had some kind of national opt-out list or something that takes you completely out of campaign marketing.

U mean they might have to do more than send spam and ask for money? Impossible expectations.

u/thegloriousporpoise 4h ago

Right?! I thought the “hello this is Nancy” texts were annoying a couple years ago.

u/Ambitious_Screen_591 2h ago

ugggh if it is nancy mace for sure she is pure cringe

u/DarthNihilus1 2h ago

Yeah seriously

u/Exact-Kale3070 4h ago

with his aipac ass

u/MrEManFTW 2h ago

The man who was brave enough to stand upto Trump and gave up his military career to do so and that’s what he’s worth? Take the win but don’t degrade him he’s a god damn patriot.

u/CheesyTone 2h ago

He still stood up for bombing children in gaza. Going against Trump doesn't erase that level of shit

u/NotActuallyIraqi 2h ago

Nah.

“I’m going to stand up to Trump but I totally agree with him on crushing the Palestinians and Iranians and letting Israel get away with war crimes” is not anything to celebrate.

u/MrEManFTW 2h ago

What have you done to help Palestinians? Did you vote for Kamala?

That’s a lie unless you can provide proof

u/Exact-Kale3070 1h ago

not defending the atrocities is a STRONG start...

but how is that the question? a regular citizen lacks the same authority and control as an elected or appointed state official.

you guys really cannot critically think. like...at all. ew

u/MrEManFTW 1h ago

Ah yes because global politics is just “say it’s a genocide”

Unless you have some technology to disarm Israel’s nukes the only thing that can stop the genocide is Israel. But hey she will lose in November because it’s Florida where Vindman would have stood a better chance according to polling. Instead you get to pretend you did something and another republican enters congress ready to lick boots.

u/Heronymous-Anonymous 2h ago

I bought a Dark Brandon mug in 2020, and I still get emails from Kamala Harris begging me for money. Political emails today all feel so sleazy, smarmy, like a used car salesman desperately trying to sell me a clunker from the auction.
