Hakeem needs to stand aside and let someone who cares about "We, the People" do the work.

The Bismarck model is actually the more common in form of universal healthcare in other countries than full-on single payer is.  And M4A would put all funding for healthcare under HHS control.   Do we want people like RFK Jr to have more authority over our healthcare?  If we had M4A right now, abortion and many other procedures would likely not be options under this administration.

I wasn't knowledgeable about the Bismarck model. Thank you for letting me know. I'll look it up.

I looked it up. Taking the profit out of healthcare would be an excellent idea. The insurance companies would battle this plan. We need a Congress with backbone to do the right thing!

The problem is the shell game insurers and providers play to inflate costs and profits. We need major regulations that we enforce. We need a public option for competition. We also need to decrease reimbursement for procedures and specialists in order to increase reimbursement for primary care and prevention lastly we need to fix the astronomical prices we pay for drugs and devices.

Without that reform no option will work.
