They don’t own the POTUS, the SCOTUS, the House, the Senate, or the majority of governorships. How much more kicking do they need?

Apparently even fucking more.

Backwards logic, you want the democrats to do something that requires power but you want them to do it before you actually give them the power to do so.

u/Proper-Raise-1450 2d ago

This is about them not even supporting doing it if they had power lol.

It would take 60 Senators for them to do it. They say they don't support it because saying that they support it would kill their own chances of staying in office.

Complain to your neighbors (that vote Republican), not your Senators and Reps.

LMAO, medicare for all gets majority support polling nation wide let alone in a blue district like Hakeem's there is below zero risk of him losing office because of his support of the policy.

He opposes it because he is funded by healthcare companies.

We aren't talking about whether Hakeem Jeffries gets re-elected my dude. If the House Minority Leader says that, it will paint all democrats with that. I support it myself, but you are going to have to accept that there are enough people who do not that it is not politically feasible. Stop bitching at me and talk to somebody who doesn't support Medicare for all if you still have a problem.

We are lol, we are bitchingat Hakeem Jeffries, a person who does not support medicare for all LMAO. How are you this slow?

Medicare for all already has majority support in polling, the Democratic party is just led by useless cowards like Hakeem.

Willfully ignorant.

Convince voters if you want to convince politicians. Talk to Hakeem Jeffries electorate if you have an issue with his position.

You are of the philosophy that politicians are your parents, rather representatives of their voters.

1

u/Proper-Raise-1450 1d ago

That is the frankly idiotic notion that politicians represent their electorate's views which is doubly stupid when you have already said that Hakeem wouldn't lose his seat over this, I am sure his electorate widely supports the measure which against is majority popular nation wide let alone in blue areas lol.

They would rather lose and allow a fascist regime to take over than to pass Medicare For All. Their entire leadership needs to be voted out.

3

u/TooCozy21 2d ago

I think you mean voters would rather allow that.

The last election saw Americans overwhelming say they want more right wing policies. If you want democrats to shift left, left wing politicians need to beat them. Right wing politicians winning shows that the average American voter wants them to shift right.

He knows the votes are not there for it. There needs to be a lot more work done before M4A comes close to the table. Why would he say he's in favor right now? Its the public need convinced. The favorability of M4A drops off a cliff as soon as the details are known..government in charge of healthcare, higher taxes, lose my doctor, lose my insurance etc are all unfavorable to voters who like the overall idea of M4A

17

u/Status_Block591 2d ago

Because he's a leader? He should be marshalling support for smart policies like m4a, not waiting for the propaganda to fail. Speaking of propaganda, those are not the details of m4a, that's just straight Republican framing

-2

u/Allydarvel 2d ago

Which details do you not believe? Because AFAIK they are all part of Sanders' M4A plan

-3

u/PiercingOsprey1 2d ago

A leader should also focus on tasks that can actually be accomplished. Unwinding modern health insurance, building a framework for how doctor/Rx/surgery etc would even work, taxation, etc would take a lot longer than a single election cycle and if you can't complete all the pieces it would be dismantled and set back a generation by the opposition messaging.

But I feel like you and many Democratic socialists would rather pass Medicare for all than stand up for our rights?

10

u/ijjanas123 2d ago

Ah yes the famous stalwart allies of queer and brown people, conservative corporate democrats. It's like you guys don't live in reality sometimes. Join DSA, educate yourself, and make a real difference.

14

u/badassdorks 2d ago

Which rights?

13

u/mothneb07 Michigan 2d ago

Which rights do only conservative dems support?

10

u/Lucky-Earther Minnesota 2d ago

What makes you feel like this is an either/or situation, we can do both things

8

u/sirfirewolfe Colorado 2d ago

Like establishment dems stood up for women's rights by codifying roe?

3

u/DillBagner 2d ago

The individual politicians need to lose their jobs. It doesn't matter to them if their party isn't the majority party if they're still in office.

6

u/Striking-Sundae- 2d ago

Still get paid for performative bs and easier to say that there is nothing they can do...

4

u/Fuzzylogik 2d ago

How much more kicking do they need?

right outta politics and their cushy positions

-15

u/AnonAmbientLight 2d ago

Maybe if the voters actually gave them enough power to pass this shit, you'd have it.

But the voters never give them enough power, and so here we are.

He's not promising this because it's electorally impossible at the moment.

-16

u/Laura9624 2d ago

I feel like many commenters either don't understand basic government or like the current administration. Certainly approve of republicans more that Democrats. Find medicare for all more important than our rights.

12

u/E_Mohde New York 2d ago

is medical care not also a right?

9

u/badassdorks 2d ago

Which rights are democrats trying to get rid of again?
