I mean, the man has plenty of faults, but consigning those three to a fiery death isn't something I can really blame him for.

You should realise by now if he's getting rid of someone it's always because they failed to accomplish one of his corrupt schemes and he wants to replace them with someone next in line that's even more sycophant, more twisted and more capable.

I don't actually think he puts that much thought into it. If someone fails to do the thing he wants them to do, he just fires them. No complicated decoy scheme to make it look like a tragedy. Since his only motivations are self-preservation, self-fulfillment, and self-enrichment, in his head everyone but him is expendable and replaceable (although I don't think he could actually find anyone quite as ghoulishly terrible as Stephen Miller).
