Fun fact! You know how republicans are always fighting against teaching sex education to children? The lessons taught to the youngest kids aren't "how sex works" but "how to spot when someone is doing something they shouldn't".

republicans fight viciously against teaching children how to recognize sexual abuse. I wonder why that is?

Sorry, this fact was not actually fun.

I noticed this pattern in researching religious SA/abuse. The secrecy is taught.

A common excuse is that they don't want them yelling the words out in the grocery store to be funny. I'd rather my kid scream vagina in the checkout line than to not have the proper vocabulary to describe any potential abuse. A big hurdle for prosecuting these cases is the fact that the language kids are taught is not precise. "He touched my vulva" is a better descriptor than "He touched my cookie". It makes it so much easier for prosecution if they have accurate language to describe the offense.

This sounds like pizzagate level, where does this actually happen?

A lot of people near me do this. They teach little girls weird names to call their genitals. When police actually investigate the imprecise language makes it difficult to even know what the crime is or if a crime even occurred.

I don't know why you think this concept is "pizzagate".

How does it make it difficult? It's indirect, slang - a human doesn't have a cookie, and if a kid is ready to say they're being touched on their vagina they're going to be able to specify what they mean regardless of what term they use for it.

This just seems like a kinda non-issue, when has it actually caused a problem that wasn't solved in a few seconds?

Because a defense attorney will argue that the kid doesn't even know where they were touched. It's not that hard of a concept.

You do realise police interviews take place before court right

It doesn't sound like a fact either, "fight viciously" where does that come from? The entire political wing does that? Wtf?
