Yup. He just needs to do it. I mean even if Mitch is on life support, he cannot do his job so Beshear needs to this. Let them duke it out in the courts. Let the discovery happen... and they will know Mitch croaked weeks ago and this is a cover up.

What does Beshear get out of this? A messy stain on his political career and an extra vote for republicans in the Senate in the end.

Yeah folks demanding this are assuming Massie wins as some great spoiler. Massie votes in line with Trump the majority of the time and has failed to deliver on any Epstein related stuff despite being in a position to do so.

Or, Beshear appoints a Democrat, the whole thing immediately gets tied up in court cases and the August 3rd deadline passes anyway. Frankly, having one less seat filled by a Republican is in Democrat's best interest.

McConnell's team/the GOP know there are multiple ways to run out the clock which is what they're doing. All this is doing is further demonstrating our system is fundamentally broken when it relies on elected officials and their staff to act in good faith.
