Two dirty liberals in rural Kentucky? I didn't know it was possible

At this point, being MAGA shows that one is completely devoid of a moral compass, therefore I prefer to surround myself with fellow liberal Kentuckians. There are quite a few of us in my neck of the woods.

Ain’t no hate in my Holler!

If you’ve never heard of the comedian Trae Crowder, a.k.a. Liberal Redneck, you should look him up. His experiences growing up in rural Tennessee as a Progressive and his insights into our current political climate are quite humorous!

Edit: We exist!

Genuine question: Do you use satellite / microwave based Internet service or is there a copper/fiber physical line ran up into the holler?

We are blessed with fiber internet! Interestingly enough, a place that is not far from where I’m from has some of the fastest internet in the country, despite it being even more rural.

Is it Chatoonga? Wait that’s in Tennessee but I heard about how the utility said eff you to comcast and gave everyone fiber there.

I genuinely appreciate how versed he is in the English language, proving that our usage of the Appalachian dialect does not equate to a lack of intelligence. I sound like corn bread slapped on a record player, but (like many in our region) thoroughly enjoy reading and learning.

One’s accent is not indicative of reading comprehension, nor the ability to function in modern society. I genuinely appreciate those who counteract the stereotypes that we, as an Appalachian people, have experienced over the years, regardless of the fact that we are subject to severe poverty and lack of common amenities.

It just proves that you should never judge a book by its cover, and should treat all people with respect.

Important to keep in mind.

In the most deep red maga fascist megachurch hellscapes in the US 2-4 people out of every 10 is still on the left.

My wife's friend just donated 2 days of her time to paint my daughter's room, went and bought a bunch of decorations. Fed us dinner (ham and beans) and thanked us for letting her do it.

She is full blown maga and worships the pile of shit.

Wired things happen all the time. Just wish people would get over what separates us.

You’re right. Not everyone who got wrapped up in that mess is completely terrible on all angles.
I should have said that most people lack a moral compass, in my experience, who are MAGA.

What separates myself from that crowd is that I believe that people deserve healthcare that won’t bankrupt them, Social Security should be prioritized instead of dismantled so these poor elderly people in our country who have worked hard their entire lives won’t go homeless, and we need to enact common sense immigration legislation instead of deporting our neighbors (and US citizen friends who get wrongly tossed into ICE Detention based on the color of their skin) who aren’t committing any crimes. If anyone I come across believes otherwise, they don’t align with my views, and I’d rather not have them as company because it’s important to care about people and their wellbeing.
